There's a switch behind the camera that controls whether the track goes to the right or left. On top of that, though, if a minecart is coming from the right or the left, I want it to go down (behind the camera) regardless of what position the switch is in, and that's where things got confusing.

I'll check these out - ideally I would have liked to implement a system where the track doesn't get switched at all and instead just stops in front of each gate for some amount of time, but the holdup I ran into there was figuring out how to get your cart started again (having a powered rail turned off to stop you and then turning it on won't get your cart going since without a block behind you in one direction, it doesn't know which direction to provide power to). I didn't think about how I could use pistons, maybe pushing your cart onto a different track after x amount of time would work...

The standard way is you have one destination area. Which has buttons to each place and you hit the button and it goes directly there.

The pausing at each place is interesting except it's a dynamic world and not a bus route.

Just found my first abandoned mine and I'll never shear another sheep: 300+ spider webs and the thing just seems to keep going and going. No gunpowder yet (at least 5 spawners), but I'm ready to outfit us all with saddles when we have our first pig Kentucky Derby. There a limit to how many of these things there are on a server?

if anyone wants to explore another abandon mine shaft , there is one right by my house that is close to the spawn , i built a stone building around the the steps going down (think it even has a window). But i cant find the spawners and there is so many green spiders in there and my computer lags too much for me to fight them !

Haven't played MC for a while, got the itch today, I'm still on 1.6.6 and when I try and login I get the 'login failed' message.. I can do the 'play offline' but then it doesn't update to 1.8.. what do I need to do?

Watching the first station tutorial video and I'm pretty lost. I have no idea how these models of tracks he's throwing down on a bunch of flat ground are supposed to represent real-world situations.

He referred to this as an arrivals and departures setup:



The **** is going on here? Is that a central hub for tracks going off in several directions? Will this make sense if I devote a couple more hours to watching these 30 min long videos?

To expand - I like the concept of a bus route better given our current setup because we have 4 possible destinations that are all on the same path - there's zero loss of efficiency going from any one destination to any other destination by using the bus route, because no one destination is "out of the way" when going to any other. The concept of one central station is well and good, but not really applicable on the route from the central portal out towards hoganj's/mine/josh's. It may become a good idea as we add more destinations - for example, if we added routes out to akspartan's portal, and whoever built the portal on the hill out near 30, 40 or so in the nether - but I don't see how it solves the current problem of switching individual tracks on the current bus route.

Like, in the hub picture above, those 6 tracks up top are presumably all going to different places. That would be a waste of resources on the current route.
