EU3 is awesome, and there's a lot of 2+2ers that play it (we do a multiplayer game every Saturday)

Pretty steep learning curve though (you can play w/o knowing a ton about how the game works - but you're not playing "optimally" until you get under the surface a bit).

That reminds me of when I bought Deus Ex in the store years ago. I saw a "Limited Edition" copy at Best Buy for $10. It looked cool, so I figured it was worth a shot. It was definitely fun, but after some stage near the beginning of the game, it ended abruptly.

It was literally a LIMITED edition! Basically a demo! Since when is the label "Limited Edition" actually used in that way? I was so perturbed. I tried taking it back to the store, explaining to the customer service rep that this is pretty much the only time in the history of mankind that "Limited Edition" actually meant "not complete" rather than "extra special." They wouldn't take it back.

It's one of those moments that still sticks in my craw, probably something like 15 years later.

for the love of god stay away from eu3. I've played that game like 60 hours and feel as though i've barely scratched the surface.

Someone should release a 'collectors edition' of a game that's just an empty box since any collector would have all of it already anyway.

Or a "Collector's Edition" that can't be opened, since a true collector would never take it out of the box. Have to keep it in mint condition.

Can anyone recommend any Diablo/Torchlight style games on Steam or GOG?

Titan's Quest is diablo-esque. I bought it on sale, so it may show up on sale again.
Overall it seemed to get favorable reviews, however I never really got into the story line/atmosphere so i didn't play it much, so your results may vary. It got a good metacritic score and i believe there is a demo you can check out.

If you just want the Diablo-esque battle system without the random loot; I would play Bastion. Really a great indie Action/RPG with great storytelling and top notch art and music.

I just failed the first time around for an easy second run. Your equipment in your inventory carries over in a 2nd game so you end up having much more $$.

whoa amazon has had a couple better deals than steam lately. sonic generations is 15$ with a code you can redeem on steam too.

$10 is what I paid for the first Deus Ex. Make sure it's not a "Limited Edition."
