This is true. Do your backlog first and keep an eye out for sales. Hell even the consoles have started getting into it. I picked up far cry 3 as a games on demand download for 39 shortly after release

Well the exception that I found is the crazy amount that steam is charging for GTA 1 and 2. Pretty hilarious considering I think it used to be included in the GTA 3 sale packs.

Nevermind, seems they are part of a package still - just not shown that way on the quick search page.

I can't remember, does steam have a function to notify you of when a game goes on sale or below a certain price?

Is that a thing or did I imagine it?

You are supposed to get an email if a game on your wish list goes on sale (and you have that option enabled), but it has been kinda hit or miss for me.

Ya I get emails here and there, but most of the time it's a few days after the sale has started, not at 7pm when the sale starts here.

I still think getting an xbox controller is your best option, even if you don't own an xbox. I also have a Logitech F310, which is kinda a hybrid of a PS3 and xbox360 controller that is a little cheaper and it is pretty good imo. Triggers aren't as good as the xbox controller, but everything else measures up well and it is compatible (and has the same button configuration) with all the stuff the xbox controller is compatible with (which seems to be the standard for controller support on Steam).

Rage I'm using a version of this right now. Its stupidly cheap and I honestly can't feel the difference between this and my genuine wireless xbox controller.

anyone buy/try shootmania storm? looks sick, def a change of pace for fps...getting bored of the same old slowpaced bs that comes out every year. hoping this is good and catches on.

I think they really missed the pricepoint when they priced it at 20$. It's not even in Top 100 on Steam stats. I could see it being more popular if they made it more accessible to people.

It's very simplistic. I've had fun playing it, though there are some things I dislike. I'd tell my friends to wait for the inevitable free weekend/sale to buy it.

They played about 30 minutes on Video Games Awesome. Im not really sure what to make of it. Its very interesting, but im not sure how great of a game overall it is nor how much content/replayability it affords
