What do you guys think of Defcon?

fun game imo

sucks against the AI, but is neat against other humans. It's also way deeper ( on a strategic level ) than it looks.

i am , but to be fair, i'm very content with my current library because of this last sale. I gave just cause 2 a second try after having played shortly after its release, and i'm loving it

Yeah its a pretty good game, I had Escape from Butcher Bay on xbox and got Assault on Dark Athena when it was first released on PC, easily worth $5.

Europa Universalis 3 + the first 3 expansions for $6 total this week.

Gah, if I buy that game I will have no life for the next few months. Literally wasted so many entire days playing Europa Universalis 2.

Never heard of it. Screenshots suggest that it is similar to Civilization? I just saw that the reviews are extremely good. I guess I'll just buy it.

Anyone having issues with steam servers? When I start steam most of the time it hangs on the "logging in account : xxxxxxxxxxxxx" and a lot of the time when I start a game it doesn't start, just sits there with "launching game" Absolutely infuriating to not be able to play single player games because of steam issues.

I used to have issues booting up Steam: it would open up, I'd get that same "Logging into xxxxx" screen and never get to the main Steam page. The process would still be running and I'd have to manually kill it, then start Steam again and it would work the second bootup every time.

Eventually I had to reinstall Windows, and when I reinstalled Steam since I've just manually entered my password to my account on the login screen, and it works flawlessly now. Maybe try unenabling your password and log in manually.

Seems like while singleplayer works great, there may be some multiplayer issues.

The developers said they have already released the first patch and are on standby should more stuff happen.

Singleplayer: Small bugs reported here and there and a bunch of them are already fixed. We're especially aware of the "middle mouse click" bug. Re-map option on the way! Devs will fix more stuff as they come in.

Multiplayer: Players are experiencing connectivity problems. In addition to that we know that we have a bug with status effects not being reported correctly on the client side in MP. This leads to a bunch of problems. The fix is in the patch!

Google Stainless Steel mod to get a great experience with that game. Vanilla is fun but kind of arcady, and the mod makes it much better.

yah been playing this for the past month or so but unmodded the npc is stupid. like really really stupid. and diplomacy is ridiculous. No one ever allows me to give a peace treaty even if they are at their last town being besieged by 1000 of my soldiers unless I give them a kings ransom lmao every game ends the same way- I'm at war with the entire world but the collective stupidity of the npc means I can't lose lol. Once I'm done beating the campaign in vanilla I'll look for mods and check different patches. Try kingdoms too... so much to do with one game I'll be stickin with it half the year it looks.

hey that does look like fun

Only played like 30 minutes in single player mode yet but could definately be a fun game with lots of possibilities. You can create spells out of 8 different elements either by trying them on your own or finding spellbooks along the way during your adventures. Some funny ones, like a spell called "Grease" which makes charging enemies slide across the floor. Also lots of humor in the dialogues.

Dont expect too much other RPG stuff. There is no inventory and your equipment consists of a staff and a sword only as it seems.

One thing that bothered me was that although there are checkpoints during the levels at which you respawn after you die, you cant continue from there if you close the game in the middle of a level. There is no saving option either.

For ten bucks it´s a snapbuy I say if you like to play around with the spell stuff, like RPG style games in general and dont expect too much from graphics.

Apparently in multiplayer, you can combine spells with other mages. And there is friendly fire

I dled the upgraded Sid Meier's Colonization and I've put ~50 hours into it. I'm absolutely hooked.
