I love finesse shots in every scenario you just covered, scooby. I'm just a huge R1 fish that I spam it in spots where it's clear that an extra pass (or 2) or a power shot is cleeeeaaaarlyyy better.

I should play a few online friendlies against some ps3 2p2ets to see how bad I play.

Outside of the box finesse shots has the highest success % for me. At an angle trying to curl into the far corner is probably the lowest success %, instead just shoot into the far or near corner will get a goal most often. 1v1s are pretty random but again i find finesse are saved a way higher % than just a straight shot past the keeper.

this is due to their odd positioning
gkers leave they near post open a bit too much and therefore are more likely to keep out those far-post curlers

Hmmm, real strange because I find that power shots>finnesse shots from outside area.

It might be a FUT thing though because game is so different to regular FIFA.

I abuse finesse shots coming in at any kind of an angle. Mostly this angle:

Even sometimes I will curl it around the keeper into the near post. Like this:

The only time I use power shots(less than 25 yards from goal):

Couldnt explain them the way I wanted so went for pictures. Yes Im 27, yes I just drew a picture in paint... LOL

I dont think the power shot across keeper or power shooting from distance is nearly as effective in FIFA as it is in FUT.

they are best when at the by-line just outside of the box(it is quite easy to get there given that most people defend the inside expecting you to come in)
especially great when you are outnumbered in the box because the ball will deflect in from an opponent for an own-goal very often

In both situations I see you have men in the box. Usually when I get a guy to the bye line, I have 1 attacker "arriving" in the box.

I'll change the way I use the low cross now and see what results I get.

What about those shooting situation, are you guys just using power shots always for the situation I listed?

A lot of curling attempts(when opponent is behind me) got interrupted because I just needed too much time.

curling is best here when your opponent is AHEAD of you trying to cover the space behind him and therefore giving you a little bit too much room

agree
defenders are covering the inside here passively(giving you time on the ball) most of the time and curling it like that is therefore the best option

when being 1vs1 vs the goalkeeper it is best to just lay it on your left foot and slot it past the goalie

today I played a close game where I was 1vs1 w the goalkeeper, he came out his box, I got round him, the gk slid in and got the player...and he only got a warning- it should have been a straight red obv...do these things happen often or was this like a 1:100000 thing?
I tend not to slide in when I'm the last man, even when I get the ball I get red cards sometimes...

Guy is through, you take the man and happen to get the ball second. Seems easy enough.

I must be in the top 5% most creative players on fifa, but in the bottom 5% for finishing chances, just ridiculous how many chances i miss and i try every technique but sometimes they go in sometimes they don't. Still averaging near 3goals a game the last week but honestly should be 5+. Pretty sure i score a higher % with long-range shots than from within 10yards, i wonder if it's to do with my camera angle which is on co-op zoomed out so can see the whole pitch which is great for counter-attacks but maybe not for close to goal

Keepers never get sent off for those.

You would LOL if I showed you a couple of the times Ive been bought down by keeper inside the area with an open goal and ref doesnt even give a pen.

What part aren't you sure about? I'll start with the obvious - 'If in the opinion of the referee' - the referee saw a foul. On the replay, it appears as though the trail leg hits the player prior to the ball being swept away (so a foul).

Once it's determined a foul, the criteria for goal scoring opportunity needs to be considered:
• Number of Defenders -- not more than one defender between the foul and the goal, not counting the defender who committed the foul [YES]
• Distance to goal -- the closer the foul is to the goal, the more likely it is an obvious goal scoring opportunity [25 yds on a break - YES]
• Distance to ball -- the attacker must have been close enough to the ball at the time of the foul to have continued playing the ball [YES]
• Direction of play -- the attacker must have been moving toward the goal at the time the foul was committed [YES]

Shower time -- Annual re-certification is fun.

so...I take it's not a good idea to go round the keeper if there is no penalty or card equity in it :P

Exactly the situations I'm talking about and it is the same w even clearer tackles, from the side, etc. The ball is flying away and I'm getting sent off

we all know the last men rule

it just isnt a foul(we hit the player and the ball at basically the exact same time)
we are NOT going trough the player to hit the ball(that would be a foul)

That's a magical time that doesn't exist. You can blame the official for being out of position, but once a foul is called, there's no debate. The only thing that matters is the opinion of the computer official.
