i played 2 games today in unranked (my unranked MMR is up around 3k-ish now, judging by players MMR i can see in the profile I play with), and both games i had 3+ people on my team who spoke perfect english AND used headset. Both games we stomped the other team easily. Probably the best I've ran in my entire life to have that happen in back to back games.

yea, very next game i played with a peruvian 4 stack against a peruvian 5 stack. least enjoyable dota game of my life

Wasn't trying to be rude, just thought I remembered him saying his mmr was around there was gonna point out how matchmaking has nothing to do with it. You can watch 6k boosters on twitch play 3k accounts and win 90%+ easy.

OK new awesome alch counter. Ring of Basilius! Activated! Really slows down his chemical push and lets you deny the creeps more easily, they tick down much slower when Basi is active.

OTOH, I got matched up with 4 english speakers, all with mics, who I am pretty sure queued together and were obv all pre-pubescents. I was flipping my chicken in the oven or something during champ selection so I went 5th which is pretty rare for me. These stupid asses, all queue together, all pick hard carries 1st-4th pick, then want to play ward commander after I pick omni who I really don't have a lot of experience with. Obv I abandon cause I am not supporting dickless ward commanders. Worst scum in the game.

Probably worst game in the last week, so there are pretty of childish ass english speakers too.

As someone who has played at a WIDE range of MMR, I think you are severely OVERestimating how much of an effect you can have at an MMR only 1-2.5k MMR below where you are currently (at 3.5k) AND severely UNDERestimating how frequently at the 1-2.5k MMR range you are going to be drawing dead pre-game. Might be interested in a wager but probably wouldn't be ablt to wager enough for it to be worth your investment. Maybe others will want to hop on.

I don't think I would enjoy the game if I was forced to play to win / tryhard in such a manner. Given my playstyle I would probably have less reliable impact on 1-2k games than the next player with a ~3.5k MMR (as is mine).

tl;dr playstyle
I never give up early or feed to quicken up a loss or refuse to help a russian mid out of spite or something and I rarely try out crazy strats. I do however hardly ever pick a specific hero (that fits the meta / im good at) as I prefer to random (first/second pick, if I'm late I'll pick complementary) and generally am making small talk on teamspeak during a game or engage in chat more than is perfectly wise to win.

Eh, I dunno. I've gone from 1.8k-3k twice and think I have a pretty good feel for the frequency of unwinnable games. Pretty sure I can limit it to 10 games/1k mmr.

I'd probably want like $500 min to gamble on the 1.5-2.5 grind.

1k mmr is nothing in the 2k bracket. I wouldn't be able to reliably differentiate between 1.5k and 2.5k players.
