was wondering about this salary discussion and I found several pages that points toward super low salaries (didnt expect that).

lanm says top chinese make 4.5k/month.
money come from streaming and tourneys,streaming platform pay players (burning 800k year) to play on their platform (thats how I understand it).

I suppose the 100k transfers for a guy who makes 4.5k is a matter of exposure of the brand and the player also benefits from being in a know team?

from other sources dendi salary is 2.5k/month.
all these from this year or last year.

if anyone has better source and numbers pls post this is interesting.

Kirby, where are you getting the 200k contract figure from? If EG players get 200k as a salary, that would mean that the EG dota team was paid a milly as a whole. That would probably be unsustainable.

I would expect their salary to be 60k a year max for EG coupled with prize money and other stuff. The manager saying that Sumail would make 6 figures probably meant the prize money, not the salary.

There's no way they get 200k salary. Maybe the total expenses paid by EG for each player could break 200k... maybe. But 200k as a straight up salary? Sponsorships in esports isn't really about salary.

btw, the 10% cut that EG takes is used to give bonuses to the staff they have working directly with the team, like Charlie.

Kirby, Joesh's party mmr is still like near 5k. Party > solo, right?

I remember Slayers Boxer getting something like ~300k salary from sponsors at his peak, but he was the greatest, the Emperor, the MJ of E-Sports.

I wonder how much LCS pros in League make in salary... quick google says "$12,500 for about 3 months work" as a base, little over 4k a month. Definitely a lot more of the money is in streaming and merchandising.

How many games would it take me to get to higher elo in Dota ? Was Top 0.5% in LoL and Sc2 so not really unexperienced as far as games go. I have watched TIL but that's it as far as my Dota experience goes. I want to get good to possibly get into betting so I understand the game at a high lvl.

I never played LoL but if you were top 0.5% in any MOBA I'd say you have a good chance of getting a high ELO/MMR whether its ranked or unranked in a few months of practice given that Dota learning curve is basically a cliff.

It's taken me about a month to go from 3157 to 3723. Though 3157 was my lowest while I was relearning the game after taking a year off, I used to be 4k. The climb is real.
