Terrible just due to xim (or emulating software) users tho, right? It was amazing feeling otherwise, I think?

Oh are people using transparent XIM settings with their mouse to trick it into giving them aim assist with mouse precision? That's cool. . .

It feels, with a controller, just like PS4. With mouse (not cheating with XIM, I mean) there's no assist.

In for PC version. Sorta read a little on how to save engrams or whatever (never played destiny) for higher power/light levels. Wonder if that applies to preorder bonuses. I went full nine on this **** cuz I had extra manies laying about. Gimme dat sweet legendary emote!

Don't worry about saving normal engrams, they are level locked as soon as they drop / hit the engram section of your inventory. In fact you're better off getting the gear out of them immediately, to possibly increase the potential drop level of the next engram.

"Powerful Gear" milestones are the things to optimize, by delaying - but also I would say don't worry yourself with this unless your goal is to be max level as fast as possible. These are entirely a post-campaign thing anyway.

The slower you go the more content you'll think there is...

The rule is, once it's in you inventory there is no reason to save it, the level of the drop is set. If you can by it from a vendor it will continue to go up in level as you do until it get it from them. But like Dave said, it's probably a wash unless you are speed leveling.

One thing I really wish I did was to do the side missions as and when they opened up, instead of powering through the main story campaign. I basically left them all until I was max level, bit of a waste If you find yourself fast approaching level 20 though, do the campaign if you care about being spoiled.

Ah, yeah, you’re (obviously) right. I was misremembering something I read in a kotaku guide for getting high power level quickly:

Quote:
Phase 1: Power 200-259

What NOT to do: Turn in vendor tokens or Gunsmith materials, milestones, exotic weapon quests, Cayde’s treasure maps, Nightfalls, or anything else that drops “Powerful” gear.

What is the current state of the 3 classes? I played Destiny for a month at launch and played Hunter, never played the other classes. Not sure what class to main, although I plan to have 1 of each eventually.

I like hunter but they have the worst supers. Warlock seems to be for weirdos and cheaters, so that leaves you with Titans, they try harder but have run into a few to many things with their heads if you catch my drift.

I would disagree with that.

Hunters are the most nimble class, and in the current PvP meta they're becoming quite good in two of the subclasses - the Nightstalker can juke and go auto-invisible, making them harder to track, while their super is useful because of how much opponents group up. The Gunslinger is good in the top tree, if you DO NOT spend a talent point on six-shooter, which is universally terrible and actually makes the super WAY WAY WAY worse.

The Striker Titans are sick right now because their top skill tree gets TWO pulse grenades, which are way way way overpowered because they tick for a ton of damage, and tick really fast, and are basically an insta-kill if they catch someone for two ticks. The super is good as well, but after the initial surprise slam it's kind of meh and easy to kill. The other Titans all suck.

The Warlocks are great in the Voidwalker tree - they have blink, which is amazing, and sick recovery. The class skill is the best in the game by far, as well. But they are floofy and move rather slowly other than skilled usage of blink.

For PvE you should note that the Hunter class ability is totally worthless and it makes them particularly worthless in the raid, where they bring precisely nothing to the table (except, I guess, the tether, which doesn't matter because the DPS checks aren't that bad).

Golden gun with that power up hat has its uses, as does the pole dancer to control mobs on occasion so the aren’t totally worthless, but you can tell the devs didn’t play them much or only the devs no one like played them...

Are Lost Sectors something you should do as you level or save for endgame?

Do as you find them, basically save nothing for endgame.

Doesn't matter, worth doing whenever, as Dave said. Same with the Adventures, just get them done.

The artistry of the PvE through the end of the story, including the Quests and Adventures and Lost Sectors, is something special. They're worth doing before you're way over-leveled.

Here's a tip: as you get blue scout rifles, be sure to save 5 no matter what. You'll thank me later.

in WoW, if you do all the quests and bonus quests and etc., you will be massively overleveled for the zone you're in by the time you leave it.

Is the same thing true of density? Will I be level 20 long before I reach the end of campaign (or whatever it's called) if I pimp all the extra questy stuff and do events and such?

one day down, up 5 levels, woo!

Oh, if I got the ultra-massive super boogie deluxe version, how do I claim all my swag? I figured it'd be in the mailbox person thing, but it wasn't afaik

edit

internet says it doesn't happen til 20 and finishing the campaign, confirm?

In Destiny you can never really over level for zones, only under level. If you are 300 and the enemies are 140, your damage / resistance are scaled to 140. This allows you to group up with lower level friends, or continue to run public events in EDZ for example, with the enemies still providing at least a little challenge.

What you can out level though are the rewards.

Deluxe edition content is dispensed by Tess (the lootbox merchant), for the most part. Some other NPCs give certain things. I think most does appear when at the end of the campaign.

Unless they have fixed it (maybe), some NPC idle dialog (Shaxx, I think - not 100% sure) will spoil the end of the campaign if you hit 20 before completing it Which is certainly possible if you do lots of the side content.

It only has to keep me interested for 2 weeks until Star Wars Battlefront 2 is released.

Official word on this - Only 400 players have been banned, and not for using simple tools like Discord overlay or MSI Afterburner.

Question: I’m a warlock and used my utility points or whatever to unlock the healing and buffing zones on my first subclass. Once I got the second subclass, those things were already unlocked. What it do? I thought unlocking on one subclass didn’t affect others, or is that the right-hand side stuff?
