You wouldn't see my war base, just my farming base.

While I used to design bases, my war base was a design I took from the CoC strat forums. it's worked out really well, and I'm repurposing it for a farming design.

But, I'm still VERY new to TH9 (my 2nd xbow will be finished today) so it's as yet not up to snuff for real results as far as testing goes, because I didn't have all the buildings up yet to see how well it functions.

Once it's up to snuff and has been tested and tweaked and I'm confident in it, I'll share with ya

But, I'll at least explain the concept. Troop AI causes them to target the next closest building (or defense in the case of giants, golem, balloons, etc)

As such, you can take advantage of this in a way that kind of goes outside of conventional thinking. you essentially expose the majority of your defenses outside your walls, but space them and other buildings in a ring around your walled-in base.

Inside your base you have multiple rings of walls, with the defenses and buildings inside there as deep as possible.

When an enemy attacks the outskirts of your base, their armies get pulled in a ring around your walls, rather than heading towards your core, because the next closest target for them exists in that exterior ring.

This allows you to divide and conquer your opponents army, as they spend a lot of time fruitlessly running in a circle around the buildings you are protecting.

this is easiest for a trophy/clan war setup because you essentially keep the TH, Air Defense, X-bows & teslas inside the core. While for a farming design you have the TH outside and the storages inside.

Don't get me wrong, it's not 100% foolproof. Two of the six attacks on me almost got my TH in the war, but fortunately were stopped just in the knick of time before their last wizard got in the killing shot for the 2nd star.

And in the farming version I'm testing, I have had my core breached, but I've lost a LOT less loot than I would against those attacks with other base designs because the majority of the attackers army gets divided and only a portion of it reaches the core.

Still, when that portion includes lvl 20+ heroes and some wizards, I do suffer some losses. But I have yet to be 100%'d with the concept I'm tweaking right now.

What if we had someone around 10-15 that is a challenge to 3* completely expose their th? Could wet tempt their mid to lower ppl into taking the free loot and wasting attacks? We wouldn't be giving a star away since they are getting one starred anyway, but we can encourage the other team to waste a bunch of mid level attacks.

I'm in a small clan and we could use some people. We have 19 right now after booting a bunch of inactives. 9 of us over level 60, I'm lvl 76, our top is 86, and four of the remaining ones are second accounts of our better players that are building. If we could get 10-15 better players and boot the lower ones we'd be looking good.

The clan is My Mum. I know there are a few kids in there, but they're decent. I joined it when I first started because Mum was a running joke with my friends at the time.

So you're allowing us all to get into your Mum? Pics, or gtfo...

Maybe we should try that after we hit 10 straight wins.

Lol, great minds and all that..

I think it could possibly be the difference in some really close wars..

We seem to be running pretty hot atm..

I only see us getting stronger as the selection process after each war weeds out the inactive and clueless..

As time goes on we can be more and more selective about who we let in.

Global top 3 in 2 months imo

I would like to try this. I wonder, though, if we should keep it in the top 3. Lower clanmates are more likely to want to check out our top 3 than go through the top 15, looking for a TH to snipe. The temptation of "OMG, I can take out a Lava Castle!"

This increases the odds of being 1starred from about 95%, to 100%.
Odds of two-starring goes up, but not that much. The kind of attack that knocks out 50%, knocks out TH 2/3rds of the time.
Odds of 3star go down a small bit as the defense shrinks when you take out the dead structure at the core.

Wow, I thought being ghosted during a war was lame, but this may take the cake. During our current war our elders have been accepting a bunch of new join requests. Then suddenly all of those accounts up and leave, cause they're obviously alt accounts for the clan we're at war with and they used them to spy on our war layouts. So lame.

Seems standard to me.

Also, how many people are in your clan? I'm guessing around 20 and you guys are up against the pros. You gotta get out of the small clan nitfests.

Interesting design. Would love to see a replay of the one attack that at least figured out wall breakers are needed to kill that base. The AI shouldn't go around if the walls are breached.
