Don't like lemon or lime in guac.

Super jelly about the avocados. I'm thinking about giving it a shot in at our new place, but I'll have to keep it potted since the winters can produce longer cold snaps.

Sometimes they're $1.50 each for a small Hass, fortunately I've been finding them for $.88/small hass lately...which is still ridiculous compared to CA prices

Food prices make me want to go back to Colombia. I bought ten kilos of oranges for about $4 there.

Seemed like a great idea until I thought about who had to carry it home and up 4 flights of stairs.

But fresh cut mango! On the street! For fifty cents! .... where's my ****ing drool emoticon?

I saw a man get hit by a truck tonight.

The truck just took off.

But I wrote down the licence plate and gave it to the police.

It's still on my arm.

Time to go finish the bottle of whiskey.

Because Holy ****.

He wasn't dead when they put him in the ambulance. He regained consciousness and knew his name. He didn't speak English so I don't know how coherent he was. He was bleeding from the head and the pick-up launched him into the air. He got hit in the crosswalk but seemed a good ten yards from it when we got there from a block away.

The ambulance took him away. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some intense internal bleeding. So I have no idea who he'll turn out.

Do shoes actually come off when you get hit by a car? How about pants

Saw a video of a woman crossing the street being hit by a vehicle in Compton. While she was obv unconscious and laying in the street, a guy runs out and grabs her purse, then a girl walks out into the street, checks her and THEN pulled the shoes off of the woman. The shocking thing was, there were people nearby simply watching the event unfold. An ambulance reached her and took her away. All was caught on a security camera from across the street. Hope and change.

My dad has been a paramedic for ~30 years (he mostly runs on the volunteer ambulance in my tiny home town). When he was doing his training, he had a run where a motorcycle had broadsided a pick-up, rider gets vaulted over the truck and lands on the other side. His helmet had caught the top of the door frame as he was flipping over and landed neatly on top of the truck. His head was still in it.

And according to my Dad, losing shoes is super standard.
