I had a friend who is a poker player/trader who said he has had whole interviews where he was asked nothing but poker-related questions. They were in quite a bit more depth than the std questions too and exhibited decent knowledge of the game.

Its the city to be. Ive been to Toronto and Vancouver plenty of times and sorry but Montreal is the nuts. You lucky canucks have billion of hot azn girls to, fall in love like 30times last year.

You dont need to speak french at all, but Id recommend living on the island of Montreal and not anywhere else. Quebec city is like 100% french, south of Montreal (where I live) is 60-70% french. Montreal is like 20% french lol. But everyone speak English on the island. Id still learn a few words in french if I was you, its a really hard language so dont think you're just going to come here and learn it "just like this", it wont work.

Montreal is basically full of everything. We've got people from around the globe and everyone love everyone. Its a multi ethnicity unlike Quebec city. Its a party city, the nightlife is amazing, we've plenty of top notch restaurants (any type), the girls are hot and rly friendly. The reason why id learn french words is to meet Quebec french girls. They're the best. Everyone is friendly and theres festival left and right on the island. The casino is at 10mins of downtown. We also have 3 indian poker rooms, 20-30mins from downtown. higher stakes being played there vs casino on weekend.

Theres also the NHL playoffs right now. hockey is our sport. If we win the Stanley cup (unlikely but never know) people are going to put cars on fire, will throw T.V in local shops and the SQUAT cops are going to raid the streets. Im not leveling, it happened last year and we didn't even reach the finals. Id go watch a game or two, the ambiance of the games in Montreal is unique and pretty fun.

Montreal can be a great city, especially if you know people. To live there might be a bit of a culture shock for some Americans, thats all... If you do decide to live there, go for the west downtown side of Montreal Island. You'll be close to the universities and a large english speaking community.

Montreal is as to Toronto, as Vegas is to LA... It's where we go to party hard in secrecy.
