after being unable to even access the withdrawal page (cause it uses ftp.com, which is seized), i got onto it with my backup stick (DNS-server not yet updated) and cashed out a good portion of my BR to moneybookers, which, unlike everytime else wasnt processed, instantly.

should I try to cancel or just hope for the best? also, im not in the US

I dunno, the US government is seeking 1.5b and 1b from stars and tilt respectively. Most if not all of their assets are currently frozen. I've been thinking about it and assuming they lose, they'll be forced into bankruptcy and players will be treated just like any other creditor. Some judge somewhere will decides who gets what (if there's even anything left) and assuming you're gonna get 100 cents on the dollar is extremely optimistic.

here's the full indictment... it's in there forget what page. As far as what money is offshore/not currently frozen i obv don't know but I think it's highly likely that they are both done as companies and will cease to exist. I don't think they're gonna be charitable and pay players out of the goodness of their hearts with money the government has no control over if there even is any.

So now that we're jobless, a few of us who used to play counter-strike are starting up a team on esportsea.com

If you have recent cal experience and you want to get back into 1.6 for some good ol' competitive cs shoot a pm

if we have enough, we should just make multiple teams!

Noobs will be punted off the team. There is prize money and every bb counts!

This is my primary concern but doesn't the government have control of all the money? So in the end it will be up to them to decide what to do with it?

a judge will decide in bankruptcy court assuming it comes to that

my guess would be the have control of a very small % of it. the banks they seized funds from were all in the US and the people arrested were payment processors.

if FTP and Stars were keeping all their money in US banks rather than in various banks around the world i would be completely shocked. i would think they prob have like 95-98% of all their money in various banks that the US govt cant touch.

idk how the whole court case will play out since i would doubt any of the guys that werent picked up in the US will be turning themselves in.

.
"The indictment and civil lawsuit seek at least $3 billion in money laundering penalties and forfeiture from the defendants. The federal court issued a restraining order on about 76 bank accounts in 14 countries and seized five Internet domain names allegedly used for operating the illegal games. "

for those that were around during UIGEA, this same thing happened with neteller and the money was seized and after 3-5 months, everybody got it back.

seems pretty sloppy of these sites to have any kind of bulk of their money in accounts where the US govt could easily seize it but maybe they did. the US govt running a legal extortion case, cool stuff.

that's my hope, I'm trying to be optimistic. really annoyed that I had a wire transfer processed yesterday though. that money looks like it's more likely to be gone i guess. just hope things work out okay, feel really stupid for leaving so much on there

this situation is pretty different though, but apparently players funds are kept in RBS which has not been effected so that's a shining light on all of this i suppose.
