the sad part is watching fans all over the world cheering for 6 defenders 3 defending midfielers and drogba/benzema/ibrahimovic trying to pull a miracle.
the only one i heard being logical was torres when he said "we couldnt play them equally, they are the best in the world"
now the best thing that can happen to the game is bilbao beating them on the copa del rey finals playing the amazing game they have shown so far just to prove they can be beaten by actually playing football.
People tried playing that game vs Barca and that's how they ruled for 3 years. Football is all about tactics and realizing your limits.
If Chelsea tried to play the offensive game, even with a full crew, they would get owned by messi, xavi, iniesta, fabregas etc as soon as they got the ball and they would score even more bc there would be less defenders.
You just have to realize that no matter what you do, you will never be able to get the same passing going on as barcas midfield/forwards. There is something you can do to an extent, like Real does in the beginning against Barca every game, and that is to run a lot, be offensive and try to push up the game and generally play very hard football. But the further the game goes on, the harder it gets to do that due to cardio and tiredness in legs etc and because barca gets more and more comfortable with their passes.
A game of football at their level is never about providing a good game for the fans, it's always about winning and doing whatever is necessary to achieve that goal. So no, it's not like Guardiola is sitting in their locker room telling them to play fun football so they fans can get what they want. Now it happens that the football barca plays is very offense oriented due to the players it contains and their abilities, but be assured if xavi, messi, iniesta etc weren't in the club, Guardiola would drastically have to change his teams tactics.
Same applies for Chelsea and every other manager, they look at their team, at its abilities and the opponents team and abilities, and make a decision, without even thinking about the "beauty of football", how they can maximize their win opportunity.
And I wasn't rooting for either team.
