How big would you have bet the river?
I think betting here is correct, as Vil being a weak player can easily find a call with weaker hands than ours, and over the few hands i'd seen from Vil he hadn't shown much aggression, so checking to induce bluffs against this Vil would be a mistake. So I think betting would be a better play.
However, I think this bet size as a standard play is waaay to big. Would much prefer to have bet smaller like 1/3 pot.
However.
Argument for betting PSB OTR was Vil's calling range here would be very inelastic, if he's calling a small bet then he's calling a larger bet. If he's folding to a larger bet, he's most likely folding to a smaller bet.

I think this is a good spot to overbet, because he dont fold trips but dont raise it each time, many fish just call and dont raise.
Its also an idea on this board, which allows only 2 sets but lots of weaker top pairs to go to potsize on flop, turn to get more value.
