I'm calling down. SB should have raised AQ+, so 88/A8/AJ beats us which leaves more combos of weaker aces.

You're not re-raising? Are you checking the turn after you call?

I'm calling and calling the turn. If he checks...not sure LOL, I guess I check back and bet the river if he checks again.

you guys think he is check raise bluffing? with what? there is literally nothing he can draw to, and with a bet and a call it is almost certain someone has an ace, you think he is stone cold bluffing or doing this with A9 or weak ace instead of flat calling with such a hand?

yea i dont think any of that is very likely

I am most likely calling down/vbetting. Not only does his range contain 88 and A8, but I see also quite a few Ax's. At this limit, players have a wider range of Ax hands. Its less likely villian has aj+ due to the flat pre.

The c/r otf to me looks like one of the following situations:

C/r with a weaker Ace attempting to fold out some better Aces. Since we opened from the CO, there are a lot more weaker Ax's in our range that A2,A3,A4 will want to fold out. If we assume villians a good player, then I think we can give them credit for such a play.

C/r with a weaker Ace attempting to raise for value. Many villians at this limit haven't grasped the concept of Relative Strength as opposed to Absolute Strength, which leads me to believe villian is simply over-valuing their hand. I.e. A4,A5,A6. If we assume villian's not a good player, then I think this is likely.

And obviously C/r for value with AJ+,88 or absolute bluffs.

Flat pre and c/r represent a weaker range IMO. I would call otf with intentions of check/calling turn and river.
