Apolgies, no HH since I was on my phone just playing around with Zoom on the app for a few mins, hate playing on my phone and is only the second time ever that I actually have.

5nlz

Hero MP $5.00
Villain UTG $5.00

Hero (KsQs)

UTG opens to .15 MP Hero flats .15, 4 folds

Flop ($0.37)

2d 5s 8s

Villain bets .25 Hero calls .25

Turn ($.0.87)

Ts

Villain checks, Hero bets .55, villain calls

River ($1.97)

7s

Villain bets $1.45, Hero calls

Readless villain, third nuts but basically just bluff catching?

Thoughts on how I played the hand?

Yeah correct. I know he has it there but can't fold and have to see it. Typical passive to aggressive line from turn and river. I guess maybe with history villains will bluff at the river to fold out our top pairs/overs with no spade but readless and having just sat down is he ever doing that?

I don't know.... is he?

Kind of annoying getting asked that question. The best I can tell you is if you think he never bluffs and only has As then just fold. If you think he ever bluffs (ever) or value bets worse (ever) then call, because only 3 combos that make sense beat you.

I guess it's just me being a nit on rivers. I hate investing fairly little into pots then facing big bets when a horrible card for hero hits and just paying it off

Just think about relative hand strengths and any reads you have. If you have quads and you know the other guy only jams a royal, just fold. Don't sweat it if you think you're right you probably are.

Once you get over that attachment to "strong" hands and just play how you think you should you'll do a lot better.

Also, as a pretty decent player it's quite frustrating to respond to a lot of microstakes HH hands. If you look through the pages a lot of questions are just about bluff catching or coolers. "What should I do with AA", "Flopped set on flop turn brought flush what do I do"

While knowing what to do in these spots is all fine and dandy, asking whether or not you should c-bet KTo on J74r in CO vs BB 100bb eff, is more important.

I often get that 'gut' feeling and 'feel beat' feeling. Guess I'll just stick by it then

Uh, try to use some analytical skills with that, but sure.

Just. Think.
