It's more insulting to Spurious imo. Either way it's a ridiculous comment of course.

I was interested in monks because I spotted the guy who lives in the apartment above me with them and it looked pretty good. Going to buy some more neutral shoes first though.

Looks best worn open. If closed it doesn't entirely cover my butt, which is a bad look imo. We're both very tall iirc so could be something to consider.

Saw those yesterday. In general I'm not a fan of penny loafers (always saw them as old man shoes) but I like those a lot. Might grab the light blue or coral for a casual summer shoe.

White soles are fine with those shoes because they basically are boat shoes. They are casual loafers for the summer as advertised, and that's exactly what they look like. Might get a pair myself.
