Are you from the South too? Pretty sure if someone did that around here 80% of guys would run, not walk, in the opposite direction.

i know where LKJ is (don't want to say it in case he wants to keep it quiet), and that's gotta be pretty standard for that area

Date is still on for tonight, but as we were leaving class today she said her roommate might come along. Play is probably to get the roommate on my side... any other tips? Give more attention to roommate?

[ ] Date

Well... uh... what do I do?

Oh I wanted to go to church on Sunday and I don't have a church here, I was actually planning on posting a status update on FB to get someone to invite me to their service...but then this girl beat me to it. Definitely no impulse to run away. I'm a Christian, albeit one who doesn't go to services regularly.

The town I live in is pretty secular and liberal, so I wouldn't say an invite to church is common...but on Easter? Sure.

lol no this is not standard.

Fact - Deliverance was filmed in Georgia
Fact - Super crazy religious zealot people live in Georgia
Fiction - Everybody's like that here.

Honestly, when the blonde girl asked me if I was gonna go to church with her, I still thought there was a good chance that I'd have a lot of crazy **** to confess the next day. Figured I may as well clean the slate right off the bat.

Go along anyways. If she brings a friend, tell her is it okay if you bring one as well? Have a wingman on standby to distract her friend while you turn on the charm. Or just have fun with the two girls. Perhaps her roommate is interested?

I love being away for a bit and this thread has a ton of new posts.

Pretty sure Karak meant that it was standard for me to get asked to go to church where I live. Not totally the case (though I know why he drew that conclusion), but again...inviting someone to Easter service, it's hard to imagine why that would cause anyone anywhere to run away.

I think for the most part I agree, but the situation in my TR is somewhere between those 2.

You're right. My bad.

Who really runs from that? Even if you're not religious, you sit there for an hour, get told stories, listen to music (and usually more talented peeps @ easter) and then go eat a ridiculous meal.

I just wish it were still socially acceptable for me to go easter egg hunting.
03-29-2010 , 06:02 PM
When I was at church when I was little all that happened was a slightly longer than usual service at Easter. Everyone is pretty conservative in the UK, so I doubt many people voice their opinion or ask people to go to services.

I still find easter eggs in the garden back home that were hidden and were hidden so well that they were forgotten. Technically I'm still on one giant decade long easter egg for those remaining few eggs.

More like "very few people out here are religious enough to actually go to church basically ever, thus finding someone who does is probably a sign of some religious hangups you aren't gonna want to deal with"
03-29-2010 , 06:15 PM
This girl's not crazy. Yet.

If a girl asked me to go to church with her, I would definitely be less attracted to her. Im all for people going to church if thats their thing, but thats just a gigantic sign that we would not get along in the future.

This is entirely fair.

Being of (obviously) different beliefs from you, I feel the same way about dating atheists.

And I have absolutely zero problem being friends with atheists, a lot of my friends (including some of my closest friends) fit that mold.

I think some people itt need to try this.

i said it was a probability of initial attraction is all... and i never said you were wrong. i just said it was too big of an assumption.

also here's something hilarious:

apparently BG was friends with D's little sister in high school and now knows her at college

that's too ****ing weird

Sigh, my latest online dating adventure:
- messaging back and forth with a chick who seems reasonably attractive and pretty cool
- she gives me her personal e-mail and tells me to use that so she can reply faster cause her work blocks the dating site
- I send her an e-mail from my e-mail address
- two hours later, she doesn't respond but does friend me on Facebook (obv looked me up on FB from my e-mail address)
- seems like an innocent gesture so I accept
- this was on Friday and I have not heard from her since

sigh. Pretty sure I look like a huge goof in the most recent pictures I'm tagged in (which are also from 2009, I've lost 10+ pounds since then) cause they're from some stupid 80's party where everyone was dressed ridic, looks like that turned her off or something.

I hate this ****.

must think of cool date situation without roommate because i think i've got this. did flirt with roommate and converse well... at least I think so.

or should i just not even try because of the fact she tried to include someone else?

oh and i lost on the stupid ass word toxemia. i mean really, i run bad... even in spelling bees?? unreal.
