Many months ago I was banned numerous times for trolling someone on this forum much less than you have LKJ. Mods of a particular forum can basically do whatever they want, so just fair warning.

Also, while I appreciate LKJ trolling, the last few incidents in this thread have been fairly lame and uncalled for.

So the girl who shot me down that I talked about like 2348324 pages ago asked me to go to her 21st birthday last night and I sort of ended up having to go. While there I start talking to her friend who is really chill but who ended up having to baby sit a drunk girl towards the end of the night so I didn't have a good chance to get her number or anything.

my question is what is the line for talking to/seeing this girl again? I don't want to ask the girl whose party it was because it seems weird to have asked her out then ask her about her friend, do I just see if she sends me a facebook request or something?

Anyway, waiting for a FB request seems like a fine idea. Just depends on what you think your chances are for you to see her again or for her to message you. FBing her is a bad idea, so I really think you just have to wait until she makes contact or hopefully you'll see her again very soon.

If you can't draw the line between what Gus did and the other posts itt, then I can't help you. I explained it in painstaking detail. I extremely rarely ban anyone ever. I have to be pushed so far to do it. I can only think of three regs in TWO FULL YEARS lol. So please, spare me the power tripping mod garbage.

He was banned for the contents of private messages you, I assume, have never seen. If your argument is that I'm too lenient, you're probably right (I actually took some criticism in the mod forum for taking so long to ban in some of those situations), but I refuse to be one of those mods who bans regularly in a sub-forum if it isn't needed. As such, I'd rather err to the side of caution. It's a quick way to destroy a smaller community.

yeah this is what I was thinking and is usually my line. I never know what to do in the sorts of situations where there isn't a clear reason that I'd see her again any time soon but also feel like anything that involves me initiating contact via facebook will come off terribly.

somewhat related to this but i was wondering how often girls friend people without you specifically discussing it like "add me, my full names blah blah and i go to blah blah" since depending on the group theyll either know just my first name or my last name which they cant spell. I know I could find pretty much any girl within 15 minutes given just a small amount of info but doubt their skills are at that level (or they care enough) to find me

depends totally on the girl. some girls friend 8 million people and others dont care. i usually just friend the hot ones, as long as ive had at least a couple of conversations with them

Agreed, although I now realize you were referring to me commenting on the deleted post and not the other stuff. The deleted post was made by a robot forum spammer (a piece of software which searches certain terms on the internet, finds them in a thread, auto-creates an account on that forum and makes a generic response linking to usually a scam site or a virus download) and not by an individual poster. I guess that wasn't clear.

I think your best move would have been to find the friend on your way out, make reference to her having a pressing demand for her attention (like preventing friend from ending up the hospital), complimenting her on being a good friend when she could be doing something fun like talking to you, and saying you'd love to continue your conversation at another juncture (read-- get her number).

Anyways, it's that you didn't do that. Don't beat yourself up over it, sometimes we don't always think properly on the fly. If it makes you feel any better I lost >10% on both exams I got back today by not reading questions fully. People make mistakes that they shouldn't sometimes.

As to what you should do the best thing is obviously to run into her again at another party. If you have mutual friends with her OTHER than the girl you wanted to be with a while back this seems likely. If not, this seems unlikely.

The worse option is something like finding her on facebook and going that way but obviously unless you did really well the other night that's far inferior. So I'd just measure the likelihood that you run into her again at a similar social gathering and compute your EV with both lines.

My experience when single (>95% of my undergrad career) was that when you have mutual friends with a girl you did well with, she'll find you. It's not that you're dead in the water if she doesn't but more that you're golden if she goes out of her way to find you.
