It's not career-ending but it certainly kills his chances of six figures right out of the gate and it's certainly a hindrance everywhere else since employers will see it as a red flag. I do hope it works out for him somehow.

I've struggled with Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) pretty much my entire life. I kick violently all the time in my sleep, constantly wake up and fall back asleep and sometimes just sit there in agony not being able to stop moving or sleep. It's incredibly difficult and frustrating to describe this to someone who doesn't have it. People just yell at you "JUST STOP MOVING" and don't understand that it is sometimes involuntary and what it feels like.

My girlfriend in college used to spend a lot of nights with me and some evenings would just elbow the **** out of me til I went and slept on the floor because my RLS was so bad that night. Some nights were ok, some were really bad, most had some restlessness.

I always scoffed at the idea of taking medication or seeing a doctor about it. While I noticed I had it worse than other people, I thought the whole idea of RLS being a real "disorder" was sort of silly and I don't really like taking those types of medications. Through college I'd just sleep in as late as I needed to and take constant naps. I've done a lot of the same in law skewl.

But now that I need to get up consistently at 8-9 AM, it's become a problem. Not sleeping at night can't just be cured with sleeping in late or with an afternoon nap. I gotta be at work at 9 and I gotta be efficient and effective til 5. Then if I want to have a life at night, I can't afford to take naps and stuff. I also have been using an insane amount of caffeine to get through the days sometimes.

So recently I was at my doctor for a routine check-up (I'm a nit so I get mine every 2 years), and I asked him about it. He's having some bloodwork done this week to make sure it isn't anemia/low iron levels, but he put me on a medication that has been FDA approved for RLS and successful for lots of people (it isn't Requip... that stuff is mad expensive and has a slew of scary side effects).

I have not slept this well in years. This is truly amazing. I can't even remember the last time I woke up feeling fully refreshed like I got a full night's sleep. My mind is so blown. I've had so much energy, have been in such a good mood and have gotten so much more done with my day.

So moral of this cool story: if you have a problem like this, don't be a stubborn ass like myself.
Nice that you are feeling good.

Let me know when they get medication against tinnitus.

They sold out before even dropping in price because of you kids. Students got the discount early.

It's best if you don't judge this forum by diskoteque. He is in the forum but not of it.

HPs getting rid of their OS, which this tablet runs. To liquidate them they put a $400 tablet on sale for $99.

This.

Once a slacker always a slacker, unfortunately.

still trying to figure out whether this decision by HP was a disaster or shrewd. they clearly underestimated the demand for their product. then again, they overestimated their ability to compete with apple on something other than price. not sure what exactly is going on in HP headquarters lol.

wouldnt be shocked to see the overwhelming response to $99 touchpads result in someone licensing the operating system or whatever, making it relevant again.

They obviously sold themselves short, IMO.
08-22-2011 , 05:06 PM
are they sold out everywhere? (i'm assuming they were sold in best buy)

perhaps HP simply thinks touchpad's longterm value is $0.00 and would rather have the cash in hand now and ability to empty out whatever space is being used up in their warehouses for touchpads and accessories?

i'm not sure why HP wouldn't just lower the price to $300 or $200. this whole thing is just very strange.

In order to have a what most people would consider a "normal, healthy relationship" girl girl would probably have to be between a 7 and 9. Anything outside of that would result in very non-standard behaviour from my side.

Oh dear non standard behavior¡

I'll walk into this trap, why not? Nothing to lose, right Spurious?

On the right:

I'd say top girl and bottom right girl are in the 6-7 range, depending on context. For example, having an accent is like +2 points, being intelligent is +1 point, being religious/spiritual -1 point, being a feminist -3 points, etc.
08-23-2011 , 01:24 AM
So those are the ugliest girls you would consider dating?
08-23-2011 , 01:28 AM
It's honestly so hard to say based on photos, right? I mean if we knew each other irl it'd be so much easier to point to a girl we know and say yes or no would or would not date. With just a photo, a personality or accent or whatever can make a big difference. I mean the girls above could be dream girls if they are nymphs w hot accents like but they could be donotwant.jpg if they are fundamentalist Christians.

so if angelina jolie/megan fox/your fav celebrity is a feminist she's equal to that blonde in pic #2?!?!

Not if that blonde in pic 2 has an irritating Brooklyn accent. In that case, she's killing Megan Fox.
