Getting in tonight, any crazy stuff I should know about? Last year IIRC registration was at some sort of box office and brutally slow, what time is main event reg open til tomorrow night. Also there were buncha restrictions on food in the tournament area, is that going to be a thing again?

Registration is open 24/7 in the poker room and will be open 1 hour prior at the HRL Box Office. The food restriction was removed a couple days into last year and is gone.

Obviously you cant have the Hard Rock Live all the time, but even in the poker room I feel you guys should run a $350 with a $200k guarantee monthly. People always show up for guarantees. It suck to always have to wait till the next series as I feel a monthly one would always be a great success and set you apart from the rest.

I completely agree, make them a 2 day, 3 day, 4 day, whatever you want, they will always hit the guarantee. Put them on your slowest weeknights if you want, your poker room can handle them. We don't like waiting a few months for the next series and travel around to other poker rooms instead.
BUt why, when we can have a bi-weekly $200k here for $350 or less.

You can do it, GREAT SERIES SO FAR.

Just 1 tip, the Hard Rock Live is tooooo quiet, we need a little distraction, put the volume on the tv's up or put some music.. It doens't have to be loud.

Especially with the great sports here in South Florida, we need to hear the Heat, the Marlins, and the Panthers game.
I'm sure this is a mute cause, but worth a shot, and many players that sit there for hours would agree.

If you use a walker.

Get dropped off at the main hotel entrance. Walk through casino, follow signs to Seminole Paradise and/or Hard Rock Live, go outside, make first left, you'll be at HR Live.

Played(and won a seat) the $1050 satellite yesterday at 2:00. A few suggestions for the future:

1. I understand that with 5K starting stacks and 30 minute levels it is intended to go quickly. However the jump from 100/200 blinds to 150/300 with a 25 ante is way too big of a jump. The average stack at that point was probably around 6500, so a good portion of the field went from being comfortable to in push/fold mode instantly. Going from 100/200 to 100/200 w/25 to 150/300 w/25 would be much better imo.

2. The bubble is too big and it makes things drag on forever because nobody wants to bubble. Yesterday they awarded 9 seats, 10th got $7000, 11th got nothing. Having a bubble with 7x the buy-in sounds fun, but in practice it made for a really poor tournament experience because tensions were too high, nobody wanted to play a hand, and both tables wanted to accuse the others of collusion. Imo split the $7000 into $4500 for 10th and $2500 for 11th.

3. I know you need to have breaks to color up, but having a 10 minute break right when there are 11 people left is just encouraging people to collude- By that time you've made friends with most people at your table, the big stacks don't care one bit since they can fold their way to a win, and so giving people a few minutes to talk encourages big stacks to realize their situation and help out the shortstacks they like by folding to all of their raises.

As a local player, I agree with this statement. It could replace the Big Slick $560 monthly tourney. I'm not sure logistics wise how much leeway you have in implementing a tournament like this in a non-series format, but it would definitely be a revenue booster. The guarantee doesn't even have to be that high for it to be a successful tournament. I know there's a lot of factors that come into play in a decision like this.
