I kind of doubt it that there will be no one showing up.

No one showing up meaning compared to last years 1600 players if 800 showed up I would consider that as no one showing up.

Save me from reading 6 pages of this thread and however many in the Brick and Mortar thread for Hollywood, what is there for hotels? Anything decent and reasonable in Lawernceburg, or not?

From searches I have done, you can get something near the Casino for $90-100+ (weekend nights) and if you are willing to drive 30 minutes or so, you can find something for ~$40.

Price and distance are my only concerns since I usually spend all of 50 minutes conscious in hotel rooms, so I can't help with a nice-ness factor.

There's a Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, and Quality Inn all in Lawrenceburg. They're all about $100 a night on the weekend and $60 or so during the week. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn and it's not bad. There's a shuttle that runs from the casino to those 3 hotels.

If the turnout for the megas on Saturdays the last 4 weeks is any indication, should be a big field for the opening event. NCAAs may have an impact with all the local teams (X, Cincy, UK, OSU, IU, PU, L'ville) playing, but there are big screens in the ballroom. Good luck to all, see you on 1b.

Anyone looking at backing, staking, or taking shares of someone in the deepstack? Let me know. I'm a semi-regular at Hollywood, respectful reputation and also took down an event in the Fall Classic this past november. Let me know.

As of 2:30, there were 445 in so far. That's down a bit from past years. My guess is they wind up with about 1200 total. There was no line at registration when I walked by.

Apparently 345 is 55 + 290 (63.7 + 281.3 after dealer bonus). Pretty dishonest to not make that clear on structure sheets. Asked the lady at reg what the take for the 555 will be, she said she won't know until they print the tickets lol.

How many people ended up playing? How many get paid? What goes to first... I am on to day 2 tomorrow but didn't look at any payouts. Thanks in advance!

Lol, it used to be $300+45. I guess the 50 cent chips didn't generate as much extra rake as they thought so they decided to up the juice on the tournaments. The $555 used to be $500+55, I wonder what is now.

555 was 480 + 75 (or 465.6 + 89.4 after staff withholding). I actually unregistered and left. I was pretty bummed to do it, but between that, and the senior event starting at 10am, the field was going to be small, and not that juicy. I just can't justify paying almost 20% rake for that in a 500+ with NO added value ($10 food vouchers aside).

Pretty disappointed about the rake, but absolutely disgusted that they had misleading total buy-ins without clarification available anywhere on the website. First time at Hollywood, but I can't see ever coming back.
