Confirmed by Charlie himself, he and his staff, floor and dealers, will be there for this event...... Little of the subject, but Charlie also said the Lilly hood of a circuit event at the new horseshoe in cincy is very good bet.........

Glad to see this thread as the first event in particular looks like a great structure. Good luck all! I'll be in Greensboro watching the NCAA tournament get started.

OK a special crew for the Tri State events only? Does that mean the Hollywood dealers would be available for the cash tables without 100+ person waiting lists? Or something in between? When the big events are on, the wait for a spot or a new table to open is really too much in the last 3 years or so!

Yeah, this is awesome if true. People have been asking for this for years. This is a win for everybody. They'll be able to keep cash games open for the cash game players. Tournament players won't have to worry about blackjack dealers who don't know poker at their tables any more. Hollywood dealers won't have to work 3 straight 14 hour days with few breaks.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a local dealer who'd be upset about this. The dealers I've talked to all hate working the tournament series. They make little money from dealing the tournaments and often have to work multiple consecutive days of 12+ hours. I heard from a dealer who had worked 9 straight days with her shortest day being 10 hours and she said she had barely made more money than she did during a normal week.

If this is true, Hollywood should really make it clear quickly, because I know that many folks will be unlikely to attend for the cash games due to the serious dealer shortage (long lists) during past events. I hope that some " suit" doesn't just figure players will spend their money on roulette or other crap instead of poker. Right for a few, wrong for many others on this one!

I agree with you, that Hollywood should make an annoucement or something. As Charlie said, this is a big step forward for them to do this......

There are. They never put the satty schedule online. I'll grab a paper copy next time I'm down there

Because the Hollywood Poker room is really a combination of well done and presented stuff and some really strange behavior! Sometimes it seems they are bending way over backwards to please and other times the policies and actions defy logic! A satt schedule does not seem that difficult, nor does announcing a special pro team of tournament specialists being on hand.

While I agree a satellite list would be nice, the poker room does not control what goes up on their site, it is put up by the Marketing dept.

I wonder with an outside crew, if there might be a different satellite setup than in the past. Maybe some SnGs, and more sats. geared to the ME.

Am I lead to believe that there will be no re-entry events as there is nothing on the schedule saying there will be.

EDIT: Nevermind, seems on the structure sheet is where it says if it will be re-entry. Probably should be posted on the schedule page.

The tournament registration desk only takes cash, chips, or or vouchers. I know the cage does cash checks but I've never done it myself so I'm not sure what's required or if there are any fees or restrictions or anything.

I think we have to be careful about reading too much into bullwinkle's info. I know he said they'd be running it but I think a more accurate statement is that they'll be helping out with flooring and dealing but Hollywood will still be in charge of things. I really don't see them turning over every aspect of the tournament to an outside crew. At any rate, the satellite schedule has already been published and from what I remember from glancing at it, it's very similar if not identical to past tournaments.

This all assume there's any truth to this at all. I have no reason to doubt him but it's still just one poster's word on an anonymous internet forum. I'd be at least a little cautious until we have some sort of independent conformation on this.
