Just their regular dealers. Capped tournament of 350 players makes dealing easy. Some swing shift dealers may have to stay up late and day dealers may be coming in early, but that shouldn't present a problem.

The Borgata 100K is August 6...right? This is August 20...two weeks later. I only know of the Borgata deep stack turbo on 8/21, $260 plus $40. Right????????

Ok, so it has to go 36 hrs .. but even with these three levels added, it will only be 33 levels at an hour a piece. So there needs to be AT LEAST another additional 3 levels added and/or make the blinds 80mins long.

Best case scenario is 350 x 50,000 = 17.5M ... or ~73 total BB's at 240,000.

Close to worst case scenario 200 x 50,000 = 10M ... ~41 total BB's at 240,000.

and this is with adding 3 more levels and level 36 being 120k/240k.

...

Now, if nothing is changed (added) and they follow the same path, the next 3 levels should look like 140,000/280,000 ... 160,000/320,000 and 180,000/360,000 ..

whereas cases A. and B. would then be at 48 and 28 BB's on the 36th hour and best case HU.

Thoughts?

Registration is open on line and in the room. I wonder about 36 hours too. Structure sheets ready soon. I'll post more from a real keyboard tonight as I hate this blackberry. I am not the only one in anymore

layemdown,

Here's the link to the Borgata's 100K this weekend. Last month they had 906 players enter and they're going to use their Signature room for this weekend. First place last month was $69K, I think. Hopefully this weekend will be over 1000 players. With a $400 buyin, the risk/reward to play this tourney is a no-brainer. Delaware Park has their $25K guarantee at $340 the same day; I'll be driving right by DP to the B. It may be an hour more to drive, but as I mentioned--it's a no-brainer to play the B.

You can't really and they should fix that. You can call and talk to k2 and c3 who will know. Others floor managers will know about in room registration, but won't know the online tally. Obviously, the number is a combination of the 2.

I have a little more information. K2 is waiting on final graphics for the structure sheet. He is fairly confident that the tournament will go about 36 hours if it makes the guarantee which will happen at 200 players.

Here's what I understand happens with alternates. Please remember that I may have misunderstood. It's happened before. The tournament cap is 350.

If you pre- register in the room, you have a seat locked up. You will not be an alternate unless 350 seats have ALREADY been sold when you pay your fee, regardless of what time you come to the tournament. If you come at noon or get to DP at 3 PM, your seat and stack will be there.

If you pre register on line, you have a seat locked up. You will not be an alternate unless 350 seats have ALREADY been sold at the time you pay your entry, regardless of what time you come to the tournament. If you come at noon or get to DP at 3 PM, your seat and stack will be there.

I'm not sure if it will be an "in play" stack blinding off or you'll get a new stack minus an amount, but the seat will be available.

Registration will close after level 2.

If the tournament caps out, they will accept alternates, but those players won't get in until one of the 350 seats opens up. That could happen at level 1, 2 or anytime after. Theoretically, there could be 100 alternates (not likely) with players sitting for their first hand at level 6.

I know there have been on line registrations today as well as room tickets issued. K2 does not think there will be an overlay, but who knows. As it is now, I'm still ITM, but I am not the only person in the tournament. There are at least four of us at about 1 PM.

I've been watching the Borgata 100K tournament thread and I agree that they should get 1000 runners. You can reserve your seat on line, but you can't pay for it that I can see. I don't expect lock outs because they are using the signature room. As most do, I love the Borgata.

I asked K2 if he thought there might be an overlay this Saturday because of the B 100K. He's not sure, but I'm not much on tournaments as a rule. Usually, I'm found at a cash table. I watch for overlays, however, and play them as often as I see them. I actually went yesterday because I thought they might have an overlay for their noon due to the Chester Series. They crushed the number with 181 runners, so I played cash for two hours and went home. I'll probably go to DP this Saturday at noon and if there are 65 runners for the 25K......well, I'd rather try to wade through 60 for 25K @ $340 than 1000 for the 350K @ $400. (360 times 1000) It probably doesn't make sense to confident and seasoned tournament players, but I like to search out the overlays....and I can because I'm close. I call the room often to ask registration numbers 15 minutes in giving me a big advantage over less local players. I can be door to door in less than 20 minutes.

GL on Saturday, that will be a monumental payday if you can win it.

BTW, a word of advice. On a Saturday, if the weather is nice, give yourself much more than an hour past DP to get to the Borgata. Even back roads are slow.

The better deal that same day (as the aug 6 Borgata $100k) is Harrahs Chester Philly championship $100k guarantee, w double chips at 30k, longer rounds at 40 min, and shorter drive from DP, $500 bounty on Scotty Nguyen - all for for just $155 more than the B's $100k. With the higher buyin, should be fewer runners and fewer AC regulars who will go for the B.

I realize this is often the topic of the OP of the Iron Man, but August 6th should be declared a poker holiday. Between Parx, Harrahs, Borgata, and Delaware Park there is sure to be more than a couple heavy overlays. I'm having a hard time decide wich touney to play. Harrah's might be the best deal, unless the usual DP runners head up there for the extra prize pool.

With the new blind structure, assuming 4 rounds per hour, I calculate that the point of depletion, with a hypothetical, purely passive, non betting player starting at 50k chips, would be at 9:45 PM, within Level 10. The end of Level 9 would leave the purely passive player with 10450 chips, which about 9x BB of L10. So one could expect lots of shoving here and L9. Of course real player chip stacks will vary widely and shoves from the smaller stacks will happen earlier. The action will get heated at 10 pm, which will weed out plenty of runners but leave the larger stacks ready for the night phase, when depletion acceleration starts to moderate a bit. L13 is only 10% more expensive than L12. L2, L3, L5 are fairly expensive over previous levels, with depletion acceleration at 100%, 83%, and 57% respectively, while L6 and L7 are fairly smoother levels at 14% and 12%.

Under this depletion schedule, the passive player who finds a hand and doubles to 100k
chips lasts to L12; 150k lasts to L14; 200k lasts just one more hour to L15. So expect midnight shove fests that last well into the morning. Real play will spray out this dynamic, likely shifting shoves earlier as weaker players deplete quicker and the stronger players wait a bit to catch hands. Means that winning rich multiplayer pots, especially all-ins, will gain good altitude against the midnight blind escalations.

This depletion schedule can change a lot of the above dynamics if rounds are faster or slower than 4x / hour. Just did this quick analysis to get a feel for the blinds.

The rules and structure are on line and in the room now and we know exactly what the details are.

Red Bull, Sports Radio 610 and Mobius New Media are the three sponsors. I'm really not sure what that means but I'll try to add clarity to the sponsorship responsibility as we approach the date. I doubt that I'll make it into the room today/tomorrow, but will surely be there before noon on Saturday.

If I were a gambler, I bet on Reb Bull being in the room with free product. Sports Radio setting up there Sunday night and Mobius which is a film documentary company, filming for news release. I will try to get a handle on plans as their made, but I'm let in after the fact, and only because I ask.

Food, massage, press, other than what's obvious are still questions that'll I'll find out about. I'll also try to get a "real time" combined on line/room count of registration.

If the 36 hour mark is passed the room may allow chops.... I'll find out. I'd rather see it played down to a winner since it will be that person who gets the press and record.
