You can't really and they should fix that. You can call and talk to k2 and c3 who will know. Others floor managers will know about in room registration, but won't know the online tally. Obviously, the number is a combination of the 2.
I have a little more information. K2 is waiting on final graphics for the structure sheet. He is fairly confident that the tournament will go about 36 hours if it makes the guarantee which will happen at 200 players.
Here's what I understand happens with alternates. Please remember that I may have misunderstood. It's happened before. The tournament cap is 350.
If you pre- register in the room, you have a seat locked up. You will not be an alternate unless 350 seats have ALREADY been sold when you pay your fee, regardless of what time you come to the tournament. If you come at noon or get to DP at 3 PM, your seat and stack will be there.

I'm not sure if it will be an "in play" stack blinding off or you'll get a new stack minus an amount, but the seat will be available.
Registration will close after level 2.
If the tournament caps out, they will accept alternates, but those players won't get in until one of the 350 seats opens up. That could happen at level 1, 2 or anytime after. Theoretically, there could be 100 alternates (not likely) with players sitting for their first hand at level 6.
I know there have been on line registrations today as well as room tickets issued. K2 does not think there will be an overlay, but who knows. As it is now, I'm still ITM, but I am not the only person in the tournament. There are at least four of us at about 1 PM.
