Also, in the room, you can pre-register with a cash payment. I don't think you can reserve a seat for anything less than the entire amount.
I put the over / under at 60 minutes on getting a reply from you!

Keep an eye on this thread. If it looks like a sell out pre 8/20, it will be posted. You can always register, pay for and guarantee your seat on pokertickets.com, but you'll pay a 16.50 additonal vig.

very happy to hear that the room needing to account for the satellite winners is being made a priority... i was a little worried that dp may understimate the interest in this tourney and then just cancel the satellites when the tourney sells out, happy to hear that this is not the case... layemdown im not sure if you have given your first name or a description of yourself, or when and what you play, but i am curious if i know you or not.

A small stakes grinder at 1/2 NL or mixed games. I've played with a guy or two from Salem... a man in blue once. You?

A few other things. K2 will be canceling the 4 PM $65.00 buy in for Saturday 8/20. He plans to keep the 7PM, 15K @ $150 in play. He believes the Iron Man may cap. Registered players are past 23. If it caps and if there are alternates, I don't see how they'll find enough tables (he'll need 8) to play the 7 PM. Since tournament cancellation is at the rooms discretion and I know he doesn't want his cash players po'd with long lines, it may be a decision he makes later.

JP, you know K2 well enough to ask him that. I have a feeling that something like that would be a negative if money were exchanged. I'm thinking of just having my wife come over after hour 6 for that reason, but knowing her, she'd want the massage and try to convince me it will help me by moving around.......ugh

You will be blinded off as the tournament progresses. Therefore, it doesn't really matter what time you get there if you're in already.

It was pointed out to me today that a player has been there since Tuesday playing cash/tourments non stop. That's an Iron Man...... 96 hours and still playing. Who needs a palce to live? And we worry about 36.

I did not play the noon 25K as there was not an overlay to speak of. About 85 runners to hit the number almost on the head. I will still pay attention to the 15K at 7 PM tonight and will head back if it looks +ev with an overlay.
So if I understand correctly 3 people could be sitting at a table Where there are 7 other entries that have not arrived but pre registerd or won sattelites. Which means they can just take turns stealing blinds? The same that happens online during freeroll player's that don't show up to play? Is this correct?

I suppose so, but I don't think that it will be possible for 7 of 10 to register for a noon start @$550 and choose to arrive late. I know some people are talking about a late start, but it's far more likly in my mind that 2 of 10 are missing from the table. I think that late arrivers will be a small minority, but what do I know. I know I'll be there at noon to start.

As far as the freeroll, that phenomena stopped a long time ago. Stacks are put out for only those that register in the room on the date of the freeroll. Qualifying does not get you a stack. That ended about last December.

When I played at one of the April classic events, I was the only player at the start of one table - stacks were put out and the dealer was instructed to pitch cards all around - so I had the fun of winning blinds for free until the second player showed up. So better to show up at the start. Plus, counter to the thinking that showing up late is somehow better, why pass up the opportunity to play the premium starting hands? Just the other night I got AA in the second hand, an early raiser goes all-in, I call of course and he flips QQ, which I beat. So it is possible to catch the fish early on!

I don't know how they'd handle "the morning of". If, however, you pre register on line and win a seat on Friday, I know you can get a refund on pokertickets.com according to their refund policy.

I'd call the room and ask about cash. I know they'd probably offer you..... at the min tournament chips worth the $550. I don't know about casino chips (which are the same as cash). K2 is in the process of registering as the room rep on two plus two. Once, he introduces himself on the thread, he might answer that question.

BTW, any ideas on the over/under. I think 350 is the right number

It happens in every single tournament everywhere that there are stacks at the table that are getting blinded off in the beginning. Not a big deal...

I cant put my ahead around there being 350 people. I would take the under. I would guess 275 max. I think what makes this tournament great also makes it a pain in the butt. (literally after that many hours)

A few more things. At worst there will be food available from a poker tournament menu at greatly reduced rates. At best, they find a sponsor.

I'll take $10.00 bets for the first ten players that choose the "under" in the over/under @ 325. I'll only take bets from either people I know, regular two plus two posters or Ironman players to be paid at the tournament.
30 something in now with on line registration really out pacing in room payments.

Massage people will not be approved prior to the tournament. Feel free to invite your own, but money can not be exchanged. Hmmmmm, the wife? I'll lend mine out for certain players

Good to know. I would take you on that bet except I do not know if I am playing. I will try 3 satellites on Friday and hope I get in. That will cost me 195.00 That will be all I can afford right now. Since my family vacation is the following week $2500.00 and I just found out I need my front struts replaced $500.00 Although I am tempted to put it on a credit card. I believe that's why online is out pacing live registration right now. Maybe some of those people just cant afford the 550 cash and are charging it. Sucks on the massages. They really do help after 12 hours of sitting. If I make one of the satellites I will get on here Friday night tell u what i am wearing and take u on the Under on that bet. Good luck in the tourney.

Does anyone know if players are allowed to bring food/drinks into the casino? Will they search backpacks for food? Seems like it should be allowed for the Iron Man but once I tried to enter DP with a soda cup and security told me I couldn't bring outside food or drink into the casino.
