Yeah, if u register online you dont have to go to the cage. Accross the room opposite of the cage is where u get your ticket.

This is my biggest worry. Hoping to either bust early or go deep.

They should have people that are there to massage my old, tired and aching back beginning at hour seven if I'm not at a cash table by then. I'll also need someone to slap my face every five minutes starting at hour twenty four....ahhhh unless I'm already home asleep. hmmmmm, my wife might volunteer to kick me around a bit just for fun.

I believe they should have hired massage people by now anyway because of the number of tournaments that they run. I'll ask K2 when I see him tomorrow.

Also, because I think this tournament may break some kind of poker time record, they should make sure the press is aware of what they're doing. Again, other than the 19.5 hour at the Commerce, this stands to be the longest continues live tournament ever held. At least that I can find on the Internet.

I consider myself a cash player first and tournament player second. I don't think I'd play this any differently, except that I may tend to view the $500 plus player as better and therefore I'll play somewhat more agressive. That the player is better may not be true at all @ $550.
the difference of skill level between a $350 tournament and $550 is close to nothing

I know, I love the Borgatas major tourneys cause they always have a girl going around giving massages. I was in the poker open and my whole table used the massage girl. She made a killing just with us paying her fee plus tips.

My opinion on skill set- First I would say that the average Saturday tourney player (you know the guy that will call a 3 bet worth 35% of his stack because he has Q-10 suited). I think the Iron Man will have 25% of these players. I think 60% of the players will be ABC players. The ones that know their outs, and most percentages and know how much to bet to take the odds away for a draw. The guys that mostly play their cards with the occasional bluff. The last 15% will be the guys that understand Squeezing, 3 betting light in position, value betting, 4 betting against aggressive opponents, Stealing an average of 1 blind per orbit if possible. Playing the players as much as his cards. I think with 200 players their will be 25-30 of these guys. This is is my opinion what do u guys think?

Looking online, seems the Commerce ironman was the pioneer so this could be a record setter, and could become a signature event for DP if there are scads of runners and it goes beyond 24 hours. From the Commerce event, it ended shorter than 24 hrs which was something of a disappointment to the organizers. Interesting was that there was 8 eliminations in the first orbit or so! So if this brings the poker masses, expect some of the same of suicide, speculative all-ins that will shift chips from the idiots to the early chance takers.

What's also appealing is that the starting chipstack is bigger than the wsop main event for 1/20 of that buy in! That alone compels me to try. It's a mini wsop plus ironman.

On bathroom breaks, I'm going to await 2-3 spots ahead of getting the BB then when there is a multiway, multi limp hand, I'm leaping for the restroom.

How many people can enter this tournament? What is the expected number of people that are going to enter? I realize at least enough to meet the 100k.

They can easily handle 350 players, but that's not going to happen. DP might be able to take that number as high as 380, but they'll be very limited with their cash tables if they block out 37 tables (8 left for cash games) for this thing. There are 45 tables in the room. They will also be running a satellite at 9 AM that won't end until about 1:00 PM. That's the only way they can play it @ 380 runners (10 alternates). During their spring series the first event brought out 478 runners and it crippled the cash room. They took some heat with that and I doubt they'll repeat that mistake. The guarantee is made at 201. That's the over/under number at this time. But, this one is a crap shoot and predicting participation is extremely hard. Parx has an $1800 buy in ME on the same day in their series. Smokers may feel like they're at a disadvantage in an Iron man. It could draw 130 with a huge overlay or draw 300 with 150K paid out. Honestly, I can't get a handle on it. This is not a tournament that management can expect to use alternates in numbers. I realize that the Commerce saw 15% bust in the first hour in their Ironman, but I just don't see that happening here. As always, registration is open until the end of level three. That's three hours in @ 3 PM. I'm predicting 165 to 240 as the final tally, but what do I know.

I think they'll be watching the on line registration very closely. Obviously, they can add tables since they have so much room. But, they must have shufflers or eveyone does without them.

I am wondering how Parx got those poker pros to show up. Mike the Mouth, the Mizrachi brothers..ect. I would of thought the 1800 hundred ME wouldn't be that appealing to them. But I guess the ME is a freeroll to them so why not.

It cost more than a freeroll. I'm sure Ari knows those guys too from his Vegas experience.

Payout will be just like any off their other tournaments. 18 @ 200 and 201 will trigger a 27 player pay out. 27% to first.

Talked to both K2 and C3 today. They will prepare for 400 runners, but not expect it. Though it won't make them unhappy if they have to deal with that big a turn out. With the Iron Man juice of $40, they'd make much more off cash games.

Asked C3 about massage people. He worked on that sometime ago and will reopen the attempt to get management approval for these people. Heck, I think they're independant contractors, not receiving any salary at the Borgata. Not sure of that assumption, but I think that on weekends, there'd be money to be made for that service.

Thanks for the info. I think they will get a little over 200 players probably get about 35 just from satellites.. So I expect 27 payouts. Although I would love an overlay! Hope they can get those massage girls! Maybe I can make my buy in this week in cash. But I will still be there for the satellites. Let me know if u hear anything else.

On another note I have spoken to a few tourney regulars and most of them love the concept and the deep stack. But just don't want to go through it themselves. Last guy I spoke to said he loves everything about it but it would just be torture for him. So he is passing. Maybe there will be an overlay. What are you hearing the the Dpark room?

After the 12 hours, I wouldn't being playing good poker. After 16 hours, I'll start growing gills. If I was younger or in much better shape I'd like this. I know a few good young players at DP that will do really good in this format. Hope you guys getting in this have a big overlay.

That said, if they are sitting under 130, the overlay may be too tempting to pass.

Although I am only 36 I feel the same way with the long session. I will try to satellite the day before. This way its not a big loss if I just cant make it. If I don't get in with satellite I will call the room 30 minutes into the tourney. If an overlay is there I will drive in and join. If no overlay I may just pass and use my 500 to play cash. I wish it started at 10:00am.

I'm just going to pay the 550 in. I was going to try to satellite a seat, but found out that I'll be in Long Island until 7 PM Friday the 19th working. Overlay or not, age not withstanding, I just want to be a part of it. As someone said earlier, I think that this is truly one of those epic experiences that I'd like to be a part of..... win or lose. Life's short...have fun....do stuff you like to do.
