Just finished the first 2 seasons of Dark, and I gotta say, I'm pretty blown away. I wasn't totally feeling it after the first few episodes, but after everything started coming together, I was riveted. The second season is elite.

I think the only reason this show isn't mentioned that often is because of the subtitles? Either way, if it sticks the landing, this surely has to be the best show Netflix has ever done imo, and I'm not even that big into sci-fi.

The 3rd and final season comes out on the 27th, so it's a great time to start watching. It's a total mind**** though, so you have to give it your full attention.

Anxiously waiting this If you liked the tone of Dark, The Perfume has a similar slow-paced/dark atmosphere and is very solid. Dark is obviously GOAT though.

What's a good morning show for coffee and breakfast? Used to do Jeopardy but that's done for now. Daily Show is ok but not a huge Trevor Noah fan....

Damn, is it really that good? I started it last year and quit 2 or 3 episodes in but I will definitely try again on your say-so, D1iab.

I remember you liking Spartacus a whole lot, and I was very skeptical but trusted your taste and you were right, it was ****ing awesome.

I liked Dark. Watching Community now for escapism.

Have also been rewatching The Leftovers, one of my all time favorites. The final episode is magnificent.

It takes a little while to set everything up and for things to start coming together. I wasn't fully invested until probably the end of season 1/start of season 2, but it's totally worth it imo. That said, there is a lot to keep track of, and it can get pretty confusing at times, so that could be pretty off-putting for some.

And season 3 is either gonna make or break the show. But it's clear the writers had a clear plan of where they were going with this from the start, so I'm hopeful this won't just end up being Lost 2.0. I guess we'll see.

Oh, and make sure you switch the language to German. I don't know why English dubbed is the default setting on Netflix, but it makes it almost unwatchable for me.

Give it a real go. Pretty sure we have similar taste in TV(Twin Peaks, Too Old to Die Young are two I can remember off the top of my head) and Leftovers is one of my favorites in the same genre(whatever that is) with those two.

James May: Our Man in Japan - 6 episodes, bit of light fun, May getting up to nerdy shenanigans travelling around Japan.

I'm really liking it, it's basically Top Gear without Clarkson (insufferable), Hammond (annoying), and cars (boring).

[Catherine] The Great on Hulu has been pretty fun so far, just past halfway, there's 1 or 2 slow eps but overall good fun.

Being a person that regularly drops out of well regarded shows a few episodes into the first season, I was very pleased to discover Snowfall. Went through the 3 seasons very quickly and now I'm sad knowing I'll be all alone without a show for a while.

Devs is very good, really clicking with me. Such a stylish look to the images too, it's all working. This Alex Garland guy knows what he's doing.

Rewatching The West Wing, which might be my favorite TV series ever. Just finished season two. "Two Cathedrals" hit me just as hard as it did twenty years ago. Maybe harder this time.

so, so good....have you checked out the podcast, The West Wing Weekly? It's incredibly entertaining, with all the actors and writers and directors, etc, and it's fun to watch an episode and then listen to the corresponding pod.

No, but I will. Always admired the writing in the show and how much attention it pays to writing itself.

Repeat but if you like West Wing have a look at Yes Minister, takes cynicism to an impossible level

I'm now on the last ep of Devs, ep8. It's a good show, I'd still recommend it for the strong scifi vibe. But far from perfect, and not fully living up to the promise of episode 1. Seems to have cut a lot of corners on the cheapo production for one thing, and woulda been better with only 4 episodes I think. Casting is also questionable, I think about 80% the actors, all seriously woke types btw, are literally ugly to look at, not even kidding!

The Bobby Ewing coming out of the shower and “This was all a dream “ is the most cringeworthy moment in TV history, can anyone come up with something close?

Would your prefer if they were the "awake" type?

I'm about 5 eps through Kingdom and really enjoying it so far. I'm surprised I've never heard of it before, but this really seems to have slipped under the radar for some reason. Maybe because the subject matter revolves around MMA? Great acting all around, but the guy who played Boon in Justified is especially good in this.

Well worth checking out imo, even if you have no interest in the sport (I certainly don't). I imagine 1 episode will be enough to know if this will be your sort of show or not. All 3 seasons are up on Netflix.

Yea, I saw this dropped the other day. I watched the 1st 2 episodes which were a little boring but the show is pretty highly rated so I will stick for a bit.

Saw a few episodes of Castle Rock. It's probably a good show, but I'm dropping out. There's so much stuff out there to watch that there's no reason for me to continue on with this one. I find that with shows that draw you in with a mystery and the promise of a payoff at the end, you really need to trust the show to continue on. How many times have you spent hours with a program only to find out at the end that it wasn't worth it.
