i mean i dunno how anyone could have "a" favorite film.

i have a BUNCH of fav films.

guess if i were forced to choose one it would be dr. strangelove.

but does anyone really have ONE fav song, or movie? how is that even possible?
so many amazing choices how do you pick one?

Yeah I don't really know what my favorite film is. I feel like it's a Kubrick film but I really don't know how to officially rank 2001, ACO, The Shining, or Full Metal Jacket.

It's probably one of those, though. I want to say it's 2001. I think that's the film that I'm most happy was ever made, if that makes sense. Like if Koobz made only 1 film I'm pretty sure I would choose that one.

Sunset Boulevard is a really good one. Especially when you listen to the commentary about the film after watching it you get a sense of how fine the line is between the film and real life. Really amazing composition of film by Wilder.

Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" just had its 50th anniversary and is still my #1. The special effects are somewhat dated by today's standards, but it was the first picture that genuinely scared me. A book on the making of the movie was recently published which offers a lot of behind the scenes stuff and some ideas for alternate endings that were considered. On a recent trip to California I had a chance to drive up to Bodega Bay where you'll still find the Potter schoolhouse (where the birds massed on the monkey bars before attacking the children).

Good point 2candle.
Having been reminded of Hitchcock - I would probably try to fit one of his movies into my Honourable mentions.

I wouldn't say it was my favourite film as has been pointed out there is so many amazing films and many different genres it isn't really possible. But the film I have watched most is The Unforgiven.

I find it hard to pick a fave movie, there are so many reasons I watch films. I'm also a sucker for SFX so I find a lot of new stuff is far superior to any classics.
But if I had to choose it would be between:

Magnolia: Some superb acting going on in this movie, even Tom Cruise steps up his game for this one.

Cloud Atlas: Storytelling at it's finest, this film moves along at the perfect pace, jumping between era's so smoothly that it is easy to follow the story and keep up with the characters.

Downfall: Bruno Ganz is just magnificent as Hitler in this depiction of the last days of the Third Reich.

Life Of Pi: Great storytelling again, full of drama and excitement and visually stunning to watch. A real feast for the eyes.

Once Upon A Time In America: Sergio Leone's classic, probably the best gangster movie of all time... There, I said it... sorry Godfather fans but it's really no contest!

If I really had to choose I would go with Downfall. Bruno Ganz is just mesmerizing in this film and has me captivated every time I watch it.

Other 'also rans' include:
Tommy
Jesus Christ Superstar
LOTR Trilogy
Dark Knight Trilogy
Zulu
Memento
Eyes Wide Shut

I guess I'll go with Patton.

I'd like to see some Clint in here with Outlaw Josey Wales or The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, but Dr. Strangelove just has too much brilliance.

There will be blood, it's slightly ahead of No country for old men, Millers Crossing, Godfather 2, American Beauty, Cool Hand Luke, Ran, Fargo, 8½, In the Name of the Father, Infernal Affairs etc etc.

So difficult, I would probably have a different number 1 next week.
