151 bottle of cologne on the wall, 151 bottles of cologne, you take one down and pass it around, 150 bottles of cologne on the wall...

One of the best films of the decade. It sort of broke me.

If you need to be reminded why film and music are the most powerful forms of art, A Star is Born will literally fill your soul.

Grade: A+

Part that got me.

“Always remember us like this”

Regarding the post above. The movie is that good.

A Star Is Born

Mermerising and electric through most of its running time, only getting a little baggy towards the end. Cooper is totally convincing as the old rocker and Gaga is quite, quite amazing in every aspect of her evolution from failed wannabe to superstar.

I really believed these two.

9/10

(wanted to hear Sam Elliot sing tho)

Sounds like I will be returning to see a movie in the theater since the time I gleefully canceled my MoviePass months ago

Do not click this until you see the movie.

Spoiler:
The climatic scene, especially the flashing police lights through the dark forest, is one of the best directed scenes I’ve seen in a long time.

Tamara Jenkins's Private Life on Netflix is one of my favorite films of the year. It stars Kathryn Hahn and Paul Giamatti as a couple in their 40s trying to have a baby via IVF. Funny, warm, and moving, the film explores how we cope with what life throws at us, hopes raised and shattered, and our ability to continue to hope when things just don't work out. Somehow, some of us manage to try. It's the best we can do.

Kayli Carter is also terrific as the niece.

I've been walking all week, but we're still a couple weeks away from opulent color. The peak coincides with the date of my birth in RI.

I've been really wondering how that one girl is going.... you know, the flake?

I guess the main thing is that I feel responsible for her not going to the place we originally met. A lot people there like her and her music, and she always loved going there.

Then... she's my only music "fan" on Facebook (mostly because I don't give a **** about that website). Sometimes, there are clicks and shares, and yeah...

Excuse me for being stupid. Excuse me for not getting any smarter in life.

kthx.

****

In other news (that's not at all related to the above ), I've managed to record 26 pieces of music over the past 26 days. Recording is a real grind, but I'm glad I'm finally learning how to do this. Some of it is balanced enough to put up on other platforms, but I'm going to have to wait on that.

A Star is Born

Very Loud Music: How cool is that?

Etta James: Drag queen.

Trigger Warning: Singer/songwriters.

Pea-Can: For god's sake, learn to speak.

Trigger Warning: Somnophilia.

Shooters: Make everything better.

Trigger Warning: Wind farms.

He's OK: He does this all the time.

Trigger Warning: Puppies and bathtub love scenes.

The Way Out: Wedding Chappelle.

"No Smoking": "Fine, thank you."

Pretty Woman: I wasn't drunk the whole time.

Just as horrific as I thought it would be, but no more idiotic than the other iterations of this ridiculous movie. I had a great time! But in the end something was missing -- some bit of character development, or perhaps music theory.

Lady Gaga: what a set of pipes. Check it out.
