Yeah, I'm applying for unemployment, and I'm getting some cashouts from two different retirement funds....so that'll help

I just cut my own hair. I haven't gone this long without a haircut in decades so I broke down and bought some clippers on Amazon. It actually looks okay. Just buzzed everything with a 3mm clipper which is the same thing the barber does. Although he trims it up real nice around the ears and tapers it a little in back and shaves my neck but it doesn't look much different. I was really getting shaggy. 1 more homemade haircut and the clippers will be turning me a profit

I find that being married to a woman who secretly stashed away 100s of thousands of £ helps in this difficult time

I know that the lounge is a hotbed of fandom of soap operas set in Manchester. Although Sarah Lancashire’s performance as Racheal is perfect, if your ultimate fantasy is not Sally Webster you are doing life incorrectly

Remember, if you're nauseated, you feel sick. If you're nauseous, you make others feel sick.

This explains a large part of my life

Why I think that my faith in humanity may be misguided part 1.
I have just been talking to a chap who was proud of the fact that the evening before he had got his dog drunk on whisky and honey.

Besides Rock’n Roll England also has an unlimited supply of brilliant Female novelists

The hair was curled, and the maid sent away, and Emma sat down to think and be miserable. It was a wretched business, indeed! Such an overthrow of everything she had been wishing for! Such a development of every thing most unwelcome!
— example of free indirect speech, Jane Austen, Emma[140]

Maybe a bit of George Eliot

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Bit Muriel Spark
If you're going to do a thing, you should do it thoroughly. If you're going to be a Christian, you may as well be a Catholic.

Charlotte Bronte
I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will.
Conventionality is not morality.
A ruffled mind makes a restless pillow.
The human heart has hidden treasures, In secret kept, in silence sealed; The thoughts, the hopes, the dreams, the pleasures, Whose charms were broken if revealed.
Life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity, or registering wrongs.

Virginia Woolf
You cannot find peace by avoiding life.

Look everybody I am obviously desperately unhappy, I could do with a little help here

“The power of doing any thing with quickness is always much prized by the possessor, and often without any attention to the imperfection of the performance."

Jane Austen, channelling Darcy.

I once repeated this to a dealer at the Bellagio. I thought I was being helpful. She wasn't amused.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

This always was one of my favorite holiday weekends. Was supposed to take a weekend trip to Wisconsin but that ain't happening. Just love the idea of ushering in the summer with a holiday weekend. But this weekend will be no different from the last 8 or 9 Everything still basically closed here. When I was a kid my Grandfather had a summer cottage in Wisconsin and we (my family, my aunts, uncles, cousins) would all go up for the weekend and fish and golf and then again for a couple of weeks each summer. Those were the days!
