He was great in What's Up, Doc? He played the befuddled professor type really well.

Andre Braugher, 61

Died after a short illness. This one is shocking...so damn young. He was great in everything I ever saw him in.

Homicide had some great actors. He and Yaphet Kotto were a tour de force.

It took me a while to digest this. Ryan O'Neil is the kid who starred in Love Story. He must be around 20.

When I got this news, by coincidence, I was in the middle of a discussion about Francis Lai's score for the movie.

Love Story is a flaming sh-t storm of a movie that reflects the time it was made. Everyone associated with making this garbage of a film should have been hacked to pieces with a large meat axe!

Jim Ladd, (75, heart attack) iconic radio DJ, mostly in L.A. in the 70s and 80s, and then later on Sirius. Had an interview show where he talked to hundreds of famous musicians.

I can hear his voice now...it was smooth and kind and had an interesting timbre.

Tom Smothers, 86

Iconic older brother of the Smothers Brothers, his short-lived variety show in the 60s was a politically charged breath of fresh air during the 60s.

Tom Wilkinson, 75

Phenomenal actor...one of the best. If you haven't seen his performance in Michael Clayton, you should.

He's doing the Full Monty up in heaven now! RIP

as if the fbi is involved

string post because nothing compares to watching another moving song live

Nina Simone Mississippi Goddam , Les McCann Compared to What, and Gil Scott-Heron The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

what other songs might you suggest have been as impactful?
