Go Braves. They play in their home teepee today.

Braves came from Boston, and my father-in-law was drafted by the Braves and pitched for the AAA team when he was sixteen. Rotator cuff injury ended his career. So I'm a Braves fan too.

I’ll be celebrating Diwali this year.

I live close to Leicester UK, which has the biggest Diwali celebrations in the world, outside India. It's quite wonderful.

What do they do in Leicester?

Pre-lockdown, big street celebrations. Not sure this year. Also, loads of fireworks, and loads of street decorations up through the main city (similar to when it's Christmas in a lot of places)

It find of merges into our Guy Fawkes Night (5th November) firework displays too. It's quite marvellous.

Is Diwali the celebration with lots of brightly colored paint getting on everyone? Maybe I'm thinking of something else. Whatever it is, looks like a ton of fun.

Fireworks makes sense. Since Zeno became involved, I thought maybe they had Kali eat children, which seemed a little overboard even for the English.

I spent three months in Leicester Prison. Back when they had slopping out. Proper bird.

Leicester was a local prison. People would get put in there after conviction, and it would be decided where they would spend the rest of their sentence. It was exactly like every Victorian prison you’ve ever seen. Grimy, overcrowded, pornography stuck on the walls with toothpaste, plastic pots of urine on the floor, one shower a week, in summer, lowest grade food fit for human consumption, two changes of clothes and underwear a week, worn before by God knows who. Not a hygienic, sanitary place to be. Quickly you realize it is not full of predators, more the downtrodden. People coming and going. One guy I shared a cell with, for about a week, literally all the inside of his forearms was scar tissue, and across his belly was a lot of horizontal slash marks, and when he looked at you, one eye focused in one direction, and the other in another. We had a game of Scrabble one night, and he and his co-defendant were getting words like “cat” and “dog”, so I had to tone it down a bit. I hate Scrabble, and how a set even came to be in that tiny cell I shall never know.

Phish has been playing incredible the last 3 nights.

Can’t wait to see what album they cover tonight.

From 1990 to 1994, I was working just up the road from Leicester prison!

Hopefully billions will die in flaming agony when the Braves win.
11-03-2021 , 12:43 AM
hope not, it will hurt the stock market.
11-03-2021 , 03:29 AM
Don't worry, guys.

The Astros surely have a plan that doesn't involve trash cans.

I've been working from home for the past week and a half, and I don't care for it. It's making me lazy.

Be glad you're working at all. Over half my friends in LA (including a few who work in education) was either moved to part time or laid off entirely during the past 18 months. None of them are back to full time work.

I know about 100 people, thanks to doing music. I know at least a dozen people who have left town, and unfortunately, I'm forced to leave now too. Heading to Florida.

Florida! That’s quite a move and change. Good luck.
