Vanilla game with a new form.

No seer!

Why?

We're all used to it. It's a little stale. Let's change things up and make the game less of a night chat time sink for wolves and less stressful overall. Get rid of peek dynamics on D1. Try something new.

In place of the seer I am considering a mod-confirmed Innocent Child that can be toggled on by sending a PM to the mod at a night of their choosing, to be revealed as a confirmed villager the next morning. If they want to use N0 to reveal with D1 start they can do that.

Thoughts? Interest? Counter suggestions?

If worried about getting willage rekt it's quite simple: Either cry to your mommy about it or only have 2 wolves, classic style.

I never work mondays and I usually get 2 days off round about weds/thurs. The slow days at the pizza joint. Gotta have me on the front lines on the weekends. Schedule subject to wild changes though, unpredictable.

if I'm reading correctly, the innocent child rand is basically only ever as good as 1 peek. Add to the fact that wolves can use it to their advantage if getting wagoned: "leave me alive, I'll confirm myself in the morning"

in this situation I would just make it a 14er or 15er with 4 wolves

fwiw the "Mafia" [I - X] series that kicked off all mafia playing at my native website in 2006 began without a cop, and returned to not having a cop eventually. The mafia and the town won a pretty even number of games but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Key difference, the games were larger, so village had more lynches and they only needed to hit two scums. What made it a game for total badasses is that alignment was not revealed upon lynch, so you never got any credit for lynching a mafioso until the game was already over.

Yes, a lot less information. Yes, a lot more mislynches. But at least one mafioso would almost always make it to final 5 or better, it seemed. Village won sometimes and mafia won sometimes.

The game is playable, and it's very attractive to players who want to play mafia (as town or mafia) but hate being constantly peeked early game.

Monday is a great start date for me.
