Bah I mixed up the two hands while writing that post, so it doesn't make any sense.

Yeah hopefully it wasn't too confusing which hands I was talking about!

I switched mid post

Just always think flatting 3 bets looks so strong

Stronger than 4 betting sometimes

Yeah I always think cold flatting 3bets is always like QQ/JJ/TT.

jfc, people in my game flat 3bets with suited gappers like 86s. one guy flatted with 42s.

I was playing a $100 tour last weekend.

It's after the reentry period and blinds are 300/600/50 and the play is 8 handed.
It's folded to me in UTG+3 and looks into A A and I make it 2500 (standard at the table)

I have ~25k and villain covers.

Villain on the button calls as the only one.
Info about villain: He doubled up in the very first hand with AA vs KK 6 levels ago, and paid me on three streets with middle pair vs my AA 5 levels ago.
He's been on the good side of " a better kicker" the last 4 rounds, and have been playing rather loose imo.

Flop: K Q 10
I bet 5k and he calls.

Turn: K Q 10 8
Check, check
Here I check with the idea of getting it in over a raise.

River: K Q 10 8 10
I bet 5k and after 20 sec villain slides in ~35k to put me in.

What do I do?

i never ever ever check the turn

and i probably fold river as played.

AA hand seems fine, against this guy betting turn is prob good but I'm not excited about AA on this board.

Without a better read I call. (The info you gave doesn't really make me think bluffing is out of his range here). This guy could have a lot stuff here you beat (like KQ) or he could be on a missed draw with a J, or he could have you crushed. But you are getting about 2:1 on your call. That's a spot I will take a big stack or an early night with pleasure.

From villain's side I could totally see bombing the river with air after you check the turn. What can you have that gives a free card on the turn and doesn't hate that river? AhJh is really the only thing I can think of.

Man did I botch a hand yesterday. I'd been playing really well. Got into it with a lagtard a couple of times which I rarely do and I think I really outplayed him. Felt good. Confidence up, then this.

22 in sb. Dude in ep missed a blind so straddled. 4 players called I call. Flop is 245dd. I lead for $25. 2 players call. Button (solid player) raised to $75. He has about $275 and I have him covered. I hadn't played a hand in a while so that affected my thinking. This is a clear fold, right? Grr....

i like the big flop bet. people hate folding draws, and people never fold top pair.

At 1`-2 an awful lot, Ed Miller in How to Read Hands at No Limit makes a good point that at low stakes, early small raises don't necessarily mean a big hand. People often make small raises with hands that aren't any stronger than hands they call with.

His range has tons of hands you crush and tons of draws that you are significantly ahead of. If he had a straight you had outs to a full boat.

overpair is a huge part of his range, which you absolutely crush. flush draw/combo draw is another part of his range. set is not a big enough part of his range for you to not want to get it in here. straight is a tiny part of his range

i'd guess something like

45% over pair
10% flush draw
10% combo draw/pair and flush draw
30% set
5% straight

Ok so hand isn't over yet. I called and another villain shoved about $125 and villain 1 tries to shove but the raise wasn't big enough. Now what do i do? I told you i botchrd this.
