I finished in ~10,000th place... and won a massive egg...

I had to come close to getting the worst cards ever... But it was sort-of fun...

I'm still LOL'ing that the Sunday Super-Million had over 16K runners... Unbelievable.

Congrats! A well deserved win. It's nice to get the cards to fall your way every now and then.

So I am gearing up for maybe an SNE run in 2009, that is to say I am playing some limit. Tonight was a wonderful 80-90BB downswing where every set I flopped lost, two card flushes lost, and just about nothing went right. And I only got 2250 hands in today. Bleh, I haven't even started 2009 yet and already I feel off pace.

In my current tourney, there was a guy giving color commentary ON EVERY HAND. Complaining when someone underbet/overbet. Who the fish were etc..

I'm not easily tilted but reading his chat pushed me really close to the edge...
BTW, his stats were 48/4.... LOLOLOLOL

Pokerstars moved him away from the table about 15 minutes ago... My chat box is now quiet...

Played in a home game last night. 1 £20 SnG, 7 players. 2nd spot takes his money back, first gets the rest. Then a cash game, .2/.5 blinds, max buy-in £20 (40BB's lol).

Played really well imo. Real tight aggressive. Got to 4th level in sng with 2 players out having played 4 hands. basically playing solid abc stuff, got HU with just over 1/2 the chips.

Me ~26BBs
Him ~ 24BB's

I raise to 3XBB pre with A6s
He calls.

Flop comes AKK, no flush draws.
He checks, I check.

Turn bricks

He bet's ~1/2 the pot. He's a real abc player. I can't fold this hand right?

Later in the cash game I had doubled up, and got all in vs another player that had also doubled up, on the flop. There was also some dead money in the middle from pre-flop so the pot was 4 1/2 stacks lol, I have AA he has QQ on a board with unders, and the Q is the river card.

I don't tilt any more, but I came pretty close lol.

I came home about £20 up, but it was a real fun night. First time I've played in a while.

sorry that's supposed to be after the turn bricks

Brick = ?

Pot = 6 on the turn, he bets another 3 - not exactly a show of strength. Pot would be 12 on the river, with about 18 left to bet.

he's abc in the sense that he might take a stab here without an A because you showed weakness, but he's unlikely to bet big the river without Ax+? My general idea would be call turn, fold to a biggish bet on the river.

yeah im no sng expert but u can never fold to this turn bet based on how flop was played....and i think checking the flop was good, but u cant fold turn and u prob shouldnt fold most rivers tbh without a sick read imo

well he is abc in the fact that he is very straight forward and I know for a fact he bets there with almost atc a ton. I have 100hours+ against him.

Was I a dumbass to raise the turn? (which I did)

I Basically thought I was trapping when I checked the flop. Hand not strong enough?

turn raise is bad against most villains. You'd rather call and let him bluff the river too if you think he has a lot of air. I mean against like a really bad aggro player you could raise small to induce a bluff shove but against a straightforward player if he puts more money in after you raise you're toast.

When you check behind the flop I think it should be more for pot control and to try and get value from a hand like 88 (unless you think he 3bets 88 pf) on later streets than to trap. There's not really a lot of hands he can has that you can "trap", so it's better to let him bluff his air.

"he can has" - lookout for the lolnamed.

hitch, on the turn you are WA/WB, I am pretty sure a call is best as it will let him continue to bluff with his air, getting you the most value, and not cost you as much when he has a king

hitch i have to echo everyone else here. Calling turn is the only play.
