Kokiri mentioned Joyce as being better to hear lectures about than read. This is spot on. My favorite in this regard is listening to psychedelic bard Terrence McKenna talk about Finnegan's Wake for several hours. McKenna was Irish and had a powerful connection to Joyce and to the text that I will never have.

I'm significantly less emotionally invested in England at the euros than I can recall having been ever before. I imagine it'll change if they progress, but for now it's refreshing.
