Regardless of views, he has that whole Jordan Peterson affect vibe where they just want you to accept they're the smartest guy in the room. I don't like that.

I vaguely had heard of him but may have been confusing him with gut milk from only murders on the building.

i actually do respect you a lot. but the respect i have for you has nothing at all do with you liking bill maher, or your politics.

but a lot of my friendship with the other person was based around her left politics

Massachusetts Pacifists Decry 'Saudi Blood Money' at Kingdom's Golf Tournament

its funny that people living in the usa are outraged at the murderous regime of .... *checks notes*... saudi arabia

republican primary popular vote:

ford 53%

regan 60%(99% as incumbent)

bush1 68%(73% as incumbent)

bob dole 59%

george bush2 62%(98% or whatever as incumbent)

mccain 47%

romney 52%

trump 45%

also i'd argue that trump ran in the weakest field ever. ted cruz, and i forget his other opponents. but ted cruz was the 2nd most popular lol

And it doesn't even mean that to Republicans (a graph in this link shows that 23% of them identify as pro-choice).

Trump probably had the weakest field, but he also had the most crowded field, so him having the smallest percentage is hardly surprising.

And I'd wager a lot of money that if you did a poll of Republicans of those last 3 people, Trump would be the most popular by a substantial margin.

i heard a lot of hate for trump, coming from republicans. and i don't remember hearing that about other republican leaders.

my guess is that trump got support from a lot of people who didn't support past republican candidates like romney or mccain... like working class people who hated the system, and thought voting for trump was voting against the system.

and his support from more typical republicans was reluctant support. compared to enthusiastic support for people like bush, regan, mccain, romney etc..

my guess is that people like cheney, bush, rumsfeld, rice, romney, markk... they think trump is an absurd liar and conman and gross human being

but still 16% of REPUBLICANS think abortion should be illegal is a really low number... abortion legality isn't really that controversial. that was my point

It is though.

And also it doesn't really matter if it doesn't affect people's voting.

a tiny minority of people think abortion should be illegal

and a majority of people think abortion should be legal just if the person doesn't want to have a baby

538 says like 10-20% of americans think it should illegal. so say 15% i'd call that a tiny minority

29% said they wanted roe v wade overturned, and 61% said they didn't want it overturned. to me, that's not controversial.

but yeah if abortion is outlawed and no one does anything about it, then you're right. it doesn't even matter what people think about it. but it's not just about voting. there are other things people can do about it besides just voting

and i do think abortion will be legalized in usa pretty soon.
