Games we play:
Feel free to start any of these games, modding is open and encouraged to all! If there is an icon on the left it's commonly used to represent that game thread
Werewolf: A forum text based strategy game. See the
WW sticky for more information.
Sheep: The aim is to match your answer with as many other players as possible. There is no such thing as an incorrect answer, so if someone asks, 'name a mountain' and everybody replies, 'Phil Hellmuth' then that was the best sheep answer. (example:
here)
Below are some variants of Sheep. They are still represented with the
icon
- Reverse Sheep or "peehs": The basic aim is twofold:
- answer the question correctly.
- pick a correct answer that the fewest number of players will also answer.
The game is a combination of trivia and leveling, the ultimate aim being to get a correct AND unique answer for each question. Each correct answer receives as many points as the number of people who submitted that answer. The winner is the person to get the lowest overall score. (example: here)
- Kangaroo: Similar to Sheep, but you must put down an incorrect answer, answering a correct answer will score you 0. Highest score wins. (example: here)
- Second Best Sheep: Similar to Sheep, but the answer with the most people scores 0. (example here)
- Double Shot Sheep: Similar to Sheep, but everyone sends two sets of answers. (example: here)
- Alphabet Sheep/Peehs: The same as their counterparts, but you set 26 questions, and each answer must begin with a different letter of the alphabet. (example: here)
- CYOA Sheep: Similar to Sheep, except the mod provides clues to answers. The best way to get an idea is to look at a thread (example: here)
- Last Man Standing Peehs: Similar to Peehs, except that if a player hits the sheep X amount of times (X usually = 0 or 3), then they're out. Winner(s) are the last men standing. (example = here)
- Sporcle Sheep: The questions all stem from http://www.sporcle.com/, an online trivia site. You look at the % of people who got each answer for a category (i.e, "countries of the world"), and you need to answer something that was top 25% most answered or bottom 25% least answered of the responses (rounded up to nearest whole number). (example: here)
- Elephant: This is like sheep except each response must start with the letter the previous response ended with. (example: here)
Guesstimania: The idea of this game is to answer as close as possible to the correct answer. So for a question "how many days are there in a year" then the closer you are to the correct answer, the better your score. There are a variety of ways to score Guesstimania, each moderator has their own version. (example:
here)
In/Out: States that are "in" are statements of truth. You cannot guess directly at what this truth is, you must make statements like those statements, and the mod tells you whether they are the truth or not. The truth is consistent and will not change through the challenge.
If you get enough 'truths' to convince me you know my 'truth' - usually 3 statements in a row that are correct - you become 'in', and have the same powers as me - but all 'in' people stick to the same truth, as set by me. The answer can be about word patterns, or from 'lists' from the outside word, or in fact any reasonable construct/pattern involving words and letters. (example:
here)
Paint Game: Begins with a Game mod chosen Starting Image, Played by PM, Signup to either Describe or Paint. You either paint the 10 word description you receive or describe in 10 words the Paint you receive.
This process repeats itself over and over until the end (Think of the Telephone game in which one person whispers a message to another, which is passed through a line of people until the last player announces the message to the entire group, but with Paints!). The Game mod reveals the entire chain once complete. No artistic skill is required.
(examples:

Thunderdome: A topic is set, and your job is to name a correct answer. If you answer incorrectly, you're out! Simple as that. Topics can range from sports to geography to pop culture, anything you can think of you can have a topic. You can either do it list form (everyone answers in order) or scramble style (everyone answers at once, you go again if your answer was crossposted). (example:
here)
20 Questions: If you don't know this game, it's really easy to pick up. Someone picks a person/place/thing, everyone else asks 20 questions total to guess who/what it is. Simples! (example:
here)
Trivia/Flash Game Tournaments: What they say on the tin. What happens in each tournament varies mod by mod, read OPs for more details. (example:
here)
1 vs. 100: A forum version of the TV trivia show of the same name. Contestants compete in a mob against the One by answering daily trivia questions. Get a question wrong, and you're out for the round. Outlast the One, and you're one step closer to becoming the One yourself, and winning the game!
