No, but I will. Thanks.

Funny story, for those of you that take notes on my postings in this thread:

I've wanted to read Ringworld for a long time, but never had a chance. When we showed up at the cottage last week, it was there, in one of the best sci-fi/fantasy bookshelves I've ever seen. So I read it instead of The Watchmen and Elantris by Brandon Sanderson, which I'd bought just for the cottage. Reviews on those two upcoming, as they're finished.

i was disappointed in ringworld. it's a great idea from an engineering standpoint but the book is as dry as an asimov novel.

Oh man, let me tell you. Work? It's really over-rated. I wish I never would have quit poker / gone to law school / applied for summer employment

On the plus side, they took me out to lunch today and are planning to tomorrow (not sure about the rest of the week).

Still, being somewhere at 8am SUCKS

Catholics don't get to drink wine during the service.

No, what occurred to me was getting paid well, getting good experience for future positions, getting taken out to lunch, playing golf tournaments, getting to shop for new nice clothes to wear, getting an office on the 18th floor, etc.

I'm a real life / job fish.

No worries. One thing about working, the longer you do it the better the perks get. Then eventually you get to stop.

If you're dissatisfied with being a summer, the rest of your life is going to be hell.

Bah...

Asimov is my childhood hero... A curse to you and your underwear I say!
Along with Niven, Clark, Heinlein...

The Robot and Foundation series are probably my favorite favorite books EVER!

well when i was 10 the robot stories were the bomb but i recently tried to reread the foundation series and i just couldn't stand it, the people in his books don't talk or act like people, they talk and act like plot devices.

that being said, asimov is by far my favorite science writer of all time, and his books on shakespeare and the bible are top notch. I've probably read over 50 of asimov's science books, mostly those ones where they'd collect his essays from F&SF.

but heinlein? there is a man who could ****ing write.

Random question for the day. Does anyone here do insurance for small/startup business? Considering starting a small service company to repair equipment in the medical research field. Looking into logistics.

Might be a pipe dream, take my request at best semi-seriously

Maybe it's because it's getting hot outside, but I wish I had an open dress code at work. To be able to show up in t-shirt and shorts would be awesome.

Just an aside. Just because. Yeah. Okay. Post ends.

HERE.

I mean here.

Okay, I'm not going to say anything more.

Starting now.

I mean.......NOW!
