i had a class last night and my prof seemed a bit out of it. this morning, the news broke that her husband has been arrested for banging his daughter. i have no idea how my prof even got out of bed yesterday

People "like that"? Aren't there way worse people — many of them? He hurt no one. There's no reason to believe he's a danger to anyone. If you start ostracizing people who do things you wouldn't do but that cause no harm, you won't have many people left to associate with.
