drafters must play at least 5 games in the year of the draft. turbos not included.

Or just do a turbo draft

why have we not done that?

like all ww game drafts, you're not drafting the best of all time, just the best of those playing

With a stable set up, a lot of games played, we could figure out a VORP for Werewolf, using not just win rates, but what day people were lynched/NK'd and other kinds of stuff.

It's a very hard game to do a rating system for, just because there are so many different formats, different players, and the fact that it's not a symmetric game.

Those list should really exclude players who have not played for 2 years.

Surely we are only interested in the quality of current players relative to each other than players who are no longer on the site.

Just do an annual ranking - statistics filtered for 2014.


Yes, yes I realise I am arguing for a thing that would radically improve my own standing.

But really some of the players on that list have not played a game in 3 years or if they have played it is like once.


POG werewolf community is a living changing thing - players who have only recently joined should get recognised in rankings - these sorts of systems make it harder than it otherwise would be by comparing them to the whole history of the game.

Try and get a filter working for 2013+2014 or a rolling 12months or 24 months...so that new players can get a feel for where they sit vs each other (taking into account all of the problems of varaince and everything)

I think it would be great to see how good Reddboiler is vs how good domer2 is vs how good insanity...

As much as I like wdcbooks or shorty or traz - who cares anymore? other than in some abstract reminescence?

WW is like Poker in the way that you would not want to read a strategy article from Mike Matusow, Howard Lederer, Annie Duke, etc. or whichever other clowns beat up on the soft games and lineups back in the day.

The players considered good at Poker years ago, as well as the players considered good at WW years ago, are mostly no longer good in todays climate.


Both sports have changed dramatically. All the old articles on WW are a bit outdated. New players have come in and thrashed the old style of playing WW with new strategies.

Wolves are bolder.
Villagers wiser.


Some joe schmo who beat up on the same players every game in 2008 would probably get stomped if they played in today's mash and vanilla lineups.


So forget yesteryear and march forward. Be innovative, dont reminisce about the days of old.
