Well, there is one hip hop artist / band that I am thinking of taking later on.

Weezer was on my list. A lot of good choices gone, a lot of good choices I've sort of decided against for my festival. Still I have several choices I'm seriously considering now, all sort of different, none of which is likely to be that popular with you all.

Sorry, Forsythio, I probably won't be taking whoever you don't want to take.

Pick coming soonish.

I think you're just being really nice and helping me feel better about paying to get a band I would've gotten anyway.

They were actually on my list as well, although you probably couldn't guess that from what I just posted. I just listed every rock artist / band that had some songs that I liked. By researching the band a bit, they're definitely more popular than I thought.

I think the band I'm about to pick is equally famous.

Will think and research for a few minutes.

alright, I've decided, gonna do a quick write-up

Looking forward to hearing the comments. I have no idea whether this is the appropriate place to draft this band.

Blur is a huge misstep for a festival taking place in the US. I'm under the impression that people in Europe care about them, but most Americans are like Dustin.

Round #8, Pick #124

Spoiler:
I pick The Killers.

The Killers have sold over 16 million albums world-wide despite only having been at it for about 8 years. As such, it is one of the greatest upcoming rock bands of the 21st century.

The Killers’ genre is indie rock and their musical style has shown to be particularly appealing to the teenage crowd which will hopefully help boost sales for my festival. Additionally, as with many other bands, the inspiration from Queen, my headliner, certainly also shines through in The Killers’ music.

Line-up:
Queen (UK)
David Bowie (UK)
Bon Jovi (US)
Muse (UK)
Depeche Mode (UK)
Rage Against the Machine (US)
Def Leppard (UK)
The Killers (US)

Killers are really good value.

I put them personally in the U2/Radiohead/Muse obnoxious group of music.

But they are a great draw.

I am handicapped by being European and by not having great knowledge of how festivals work.

thanks for taking them thingy, now I don't feel as bad about having already talked TC into taking someone else

God.

I have a huge Killers rant all stored up. There is probably no band I hate more, which is sad because I loved Hot Fuss. In short, they took more inspiration from all of David Bowie's mistakes than they did from any of his good work, they can no longer write a song to save their lives, Brandon Flowers is an awful vocalist live and in the studio, and his ego has led the band to highlight his "talents" at the cost of the band's only true advantage, which is a genuinely unique and catchy sound, which they have apparently forever abandoned.

Sam's Town was a miserable album and Day & Age was one of the worst releases of 2008.

They are the embodiment of musical disappointment and I hope they never release one more song, because their trajectory is a pure nosedive. It didn't need to be this way. The only thing they've done in the last 5 years deserving of any credit is a throwaway track on "Sawdust," called "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf," which is a completely ABC rock and roll ditty that probably took a combined total of 3 hours to write, practice, perform and mix.

I thought they were going to be the next great band. They decided they wanted to be terrible.
