Monkey, youre failing to realize that much of iceland's power comes from geothermal sources (which is part of why i chose the country)

The things that matter about Reykjavik are its climate, topography, and location, and unfortunately the climate alone is almost impossible to overcome. For half of the year the temperature barely goes above freezing and even in the summer it doesn't get warm enough to be considered pleasant. Its location is pretty inconvenient as well, being close to pretty much nothing. When given a choice of cities to live in or visit, it just doesn't make sense to choose one that is literally freezing when there are so many other options available that have a nice climate.

Most of Iceland's power is hydroelectric and the rest geothermal, I know that, but both are limited. The reason it is able to produce sufficient power from those sources is its small population. You propose to vastly increase the nation's entire population.

I mean, if we want to say you'll magically increase power production sevenfold, that's fine.

And soah's kind of right. The weather does suck. But your bigger problem is lack of space and resources.

The fjords in suq's write-up aren't Icelandic, looks like Norway or possibly New Zealand.

I would like voting to be done by 9 PM server time tomorrow. I'll be out of town Friday afternoon through end of the week. If someone else wants to be the vote collector, that can be extended, but this really isn't that complicated a task.

I'm never going back to Nam, that's for sure. Lost too many friends over there.

I would like to see some of Red China.

Vote sent.

There was a clear winner for me, but 2-5 were hard to rank.

How many votes do you get?

Do you get to rank your personal top three or something?

Top five

5 points for first, 4 for second, etc, can't vote for yourself
and 5 points for your own city for submitting!

What happens if co-owners both vote? 10 points?

I'd prefer teammates discuss and send one ballot. If they both send one, I'll award half points for each ballot (so 2.5 for first, 2 for second, etc, and 2.5 for submitting each). If one team member sends a ballot, that's obviously fine and will be awarded full points. If I feel like people are abusing that to be silly, I'll arbitrarily do something mean to them.

Just submitted my ballot before I read this. Hope that doesn't cause problems. The half-point thing seems like a good idea.

What are people's takes on voting for drafts with no write up? Ignore completely? Grade with some sort of penalty? Treat as normal?

Writeups are just your chance to make sure people understand the value of your picks. Not doing it is its own penalty.
