In 7th place scoring 11 points is...

Spoiler:
JimHalpert with Orchestral Dubstep by Double Trouble

Weird Level: Dance music is never as weird as people who aren't into dance music think it is

You're only this high because this ended up being easily the weakest category so far IMO. I've heard plenty of better dance music that uses a lot of orchestral elements, from a variety of genres. This is pretty meh as far as dubstep goes.

Here's a decent orchestral dance track, different genre but wayyy better. It doesn't get properly interesting until 2:40

He's British. You could have submitted the Super Bowl Shuffle and it would have gone over his head.

If you don't understand the concept, & don't like basketball, I could see not understanding this submission, though.
Ah, well that was always going to be lost on me. I like playing basketball but don't actually follow it at all and even if I did... NBC doesn't exist here and I couldn't even walk 20 years ago.

Welcome to the thread, I'm really enjoying Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra

I would've got that one, but the NBA thing is definitely way beyond.

Spoiler:
kwami42 with We Share Our Mother's Health by The Knife

Weird level: hey, I can make weird animations too!

Meh not that weird. If you discount the video (and I've seen weirder) the song is super meh.
I wrote that after first listen, and it was one of the first ones I listened to. It's impressive how this has managed to worm its way up to 6th despite me not caring about it at all.

Yeah, I mostly just submitted it for my own amusement...same with most of the songs I chose, so I'm sorry bout that.

Have been lurking the reveals & agree with most of your assessments of my submissions tho.

Glad something decent came out of my entry. That was one of the very few questions I actually put some effort into.

Keep up the good reveal

Asking people to submit weird stuff will never quite turn out as you expected.

Nice reveal

But didn't realize so much of the judgment was based on the video

That's not even top 10 weird for the Knife but it's an ace song. Tappo's gone a bit off the boil so I have Kwami easily best of the rest so far.

In 5th place scoring 13 points is...

Spoiler:
Monkey Banana with Hana by Asa-Chang & Junray

Weird level: Not nearly as weird as MB thinks it is

MB included this:

Unless you've heard this before I'm going to say it's not like anything you've heard before. Will make you want a gram of whatever they took when they made it.
So the drummy spoken bit and the orchestral bit are just kind of randomly splooshed together but I've heard plenty of similarly weird songs in this ballpark. Things we can learn from this: sometimes people who make electronic music take drugs, who knew?

ima repeat myself here, but the Ratatat remix is much much better (& therefore GOAT).
[Not judging videos obv.]

It wasn't my intention for it to be at all, but a lot of people submitted meh music with weird videos so I had no choice but to really.

I mean, your's was just an eight bit track, there are millions of them on the internet, your video definitely didn't hurt you.

I think that's pretty ****ing weird actually and I'm willing to bet that none of the songs you ranked in front of it are actually weirder.

I also didn't realise we were supposed to be finding weird videos to boost our ranking

I was worried that too weird would be off-putting. It's hard to tell

Spoiler:
Willi with Olla eestlane on halb (Kannatame ära!) by Tujurikkuja 5

Weird Level: Well, it is Estonia...

Turn on subtitles.

They make a good point, who would want to live in Estonia? It's kind of bad in an almost good way but it was nice to get something with some genuine novelty value that's kind of funny.

No such thing. At least if everything was super weird it would be a fun reveal.

I'm not sure that's so weird, just not a very popular kind of music.
