I think we should have just said- Primarily known for TV/Movie work?
But they're kind of the same.

Ooh, there we go .
So could go with a few things, like "primarily" known for comedy? known for stand up? Known as a writer? And then can narrow down the nationality. Got a feeling it might be someone like Gervais though.

I would say get the nationality first, but up to you.

Gervais too old in case you were serious.

Comedian on a panel show or something like that? I'm likely out of my element at this point.

That could be a good shout.
Not doing stand up killed lots of my guesses :/. Was thinking like Stephen Merchant etc.

We still don't actually know what they're primarily known for though lol.

Ok well that rules out a lot of people.

Think should next ask/work out what type of show he's on. E.g. panel show, a talk show, if he's a host/presenter.
Lots of UK hosts or regular of game shows though are either known for Stand up comedy though (Like Dara O'Brian, Lee Mack, Ed Byrne etc) or are primarily known for acting.

Yeah I was just about to say that it could be someone like John Oliver, before editing it out based on that last answer.

Mexi's Scottish. Do we assume the person in question is as well?

I thought about that, but I don't think so. There are also lots of Irish and Welsh UK guys in comedy. We could definitely ask though, would narrow down.
I don't know if you American guys are going to know someone like Rob Brydon, who's Welsh and would fit all of the criteria (I think), so it might not be someone quite as obscure as that and someone that only UK people would know.
Atm I can't think of anyone who's Scottish, internationally famous and that fits all of the criteria.

Rob Brydon was born in 1965 and the "inclusive" qualifier on the 1965-1979 could be a lean towards this

Possibly, but I think that's a pretty standard 20Q thing anyway.
E.g. this was on the previous game:

13. Song released between 1985-1999 (inclusive)

I don't know who that is, but it's semi-likely that I haven't heard of this person.
