Lol so now where do we go from here? So he could still be a TV host possibly. I can't think of anyone from SNL or something like that who's Scottish, but that would fit the acting/comedy route on TV. I'm trying to think of a UK equivalent, that doesn't have stand up, and isn't a panel show, but they all seem to be.

Thought that I might have got it with Colin Mochrie, as he's Scottish, but he's too old. I don't think any other UK Whole Line is it Anyway? cast fit, and also that might be classed as stand up.

Later on tonight I'll look for someone. There's probably only one person that checks all these boxes. The trick now is finding him.

Yeah, seems like we will know when we find him.

I'll have a look a bit later too if it isn't solved by then.

Came up pretty empty in my searches. I'll try again tomorrow if this is still open.

I did some searching too and got zilch.

Yep, me too :/. Maybe wait til tomorrow, but seeing as noone still has any idea, we could just make a random guess, or guess Danny Wallace, to finish it and find out.

I also came up with nada. It's definitely not Danny Wallace though, because he has done a ton of radio.

If I had to hero a guess right now it would still be Limmy, even though I'm quite sure it's not him.

Whoever this guy is must be pretty ****ing obscure, or else we are all just really bad googlers.

I'd also go with Limmy, mainly because Google has thrown up blanks otherwise.

He'll never top his xylophone imo.

I've never heard of this Limmy guy outside of now in this thread, but it's a far better guess than anything I came up with last night.

I kind of hope it isn't Limmy, as I've also never heard of him, and seems super obscure. But I really just want to be put out of my misery at this point, so you can go with him if you want/if you don't find anything better.

Well, like half a dozen of us tried to find something and came up pretty empty. Doubtful many of us will make much of an effort now. So let's just end it.

Is it Limmy?

His swearing xylophone will always be his masterpiece. Worth googling (on phone so can't link).

I went through the Connollys, Coltranes and Sadowiczs and noticed a dearth of good Scots comedians born in the time span stipulated.

Kinda surprised you've never heard of him HV. I thought a few would have heard of him, and even then didn't think it'd be that hard to deduce. Like, he's on the wiki page for Scottish Male Comedians.

Yeah pretty much

Also interested to know how understandable you guys find Limmy's accent, particularly in the middle two videos. I've had people say they literally can't understand a word he's saying.

I got the general idea of the videos, but it certainly wasn't easy to understand, especially that "Semi" one.

Literally not being able to understand a word he's saying sounds like hyperbole, but subtitles definitely would have helped.

Where is his show even shown? I've literally never seen it scheduled or even advertised anywhere

(I realised that this never sent an hour ago, but was supposed to: )

Yep never heard of him, and I like to think that I know UK comedy pretty well. Like I go to stand up shows, watch on tv etc. Though I think he's even more obscure for anyone internationally.
Jalfrezi are you from the UK? I'd assume that noone from outside the UK would be able to get him without some serious googling.

But good shout initially D1ab (even though you said that you're quite sure that it's not him at the end ).
