Ty for the hint. Well, Wave Race 64 is back as a great candidate imo.
1. I didn't think of the original Wave Race myself at first, it's not very well known imo (although all "... 64" titles released to N64 were sequels)
2. It's released 96 but never to any other
3. It's an awesome game, I downloaded a N64 emulator a while ago and the only game I ended up playing was Wave Race
So I'm going to accept responsibility if I'm wrong and use one of our hero guesses.

When you said it was not in a series Wave Race was one of the first games I thought of. Then I realized it was a sequel, so when you corrected yourself Wave Race made a ton of sense to me
It's a great game indeed, really one of the most innovating games that came out to N64. Love 1080 as well.
