Yea I do apologize for the question 2 difficulty. But otoh you people are weird: 59/60 of you got the definition of Murphy's law but most of you miss what should be some pretty basic geography? I mean I know the question was vague and that's my fault but still I expected it to be more like 75/25 towards shanghai not 50/50

I don't consider knowing population size as 'geography'. Maybe under an expanded definition, but to me, geography is more about the physical attributes of places.

Landlocked country or capital of canada are more along my thinking of geography questions.

i'm surprised so many got it right tbqh, the real life answers are incredibly close to each other

think if you ran the question on the show, about 30% of people get it right

meh, when researching questions the only feedback I get for "what level difficulty question should this be" is to ask myself how hard the general public will find it. In some cases I'm off. Ldo Pearl Harbor was too easy, in this case was too hard. Guess that's the gamble you take when you play - you're at my mercy

Knowledge about the world's most populous cities is pretty basic geography, at least for people outside USA#1.

Except as noted, there are three or four common ways cities are define for population purposes, mainly because cities themselves are defined in different ways and get weird due to a lot of factors.

this. we were close to 50% here. although I agree the posters here are smarter than the general public, still seems like a high % that got it right.

Even though I expected 75% to get it right, I would have almost guaranteed not more than 50% would have gotten it wrong. I figured 100% of people would rule out Sao Paolo. I didn't expect a handful of Seoul answers. Mumbai is without a doubt the densest when you include geographical size, but figured most people would use the ldo China reasoning.

having 50% of the crowd get it right isn't exactly a disaster, and nor is some variance in the question difficulty, but yup, that was hard, at least for the non-list-learning-sporcling crowd. The correct answer turns out to be the one i eliminated first
