First of all, we don't normally allow people to spam other sites. Secondly, maybe 45 minutes is a little too soon to decide you've been evicted.

Bobo I hope you can go to bat for us. I worry this will be more than the end of politics. Nuking one of the most active forums (top 4-5?) when 2+2 is already dwindling doesn't bode well for the ongoing life of this site. I've been here 15 years. I don't want to leave. But without politics to bring me here everyday, I worry that I (like dozens of others) will be gone for good.

JFC dude, I deleted one post that actually does break forum rules. But I don't think it was any kind of serious breach, and I understand why it was done, which is why all I did was delete it.

While I don't agree with Mat's decision, I'm starting to understand his frustration.

In all seriousness, and I know it sounds goofy, but the politics forum here had become a really important daily means for me to be able to mentally deal with what's going on in this country. There are other places that offer something similar, but not with the critical mass of really astute posters like we have here (/r/politics for example has plenty of smart folks, but an awful signal/noise ratio and an upvote system that hides ****posts and debate-worthy ones alike). I really would be sad to see it go, and I'm really not sure if I have a ton of good reasons to visit this site otherwise.

I was thinking I just got banned but it's actually the whole Politics forum has been eliminated(or maybe both)?

The other day I was thinking about posting the following but decided to wait a bit...

They should change the name of this forum to, "Name-calling and Insinuation as a Political Propaganda Ploy".

If someone says something you disagree with,
1) Demand proofs and references,
2) Contradict him,
3) Ridicule and abuse him,
4) Suggest hateful motivations for his view(misogyny, racism),
5) Demand more proofs and references to overload him with work until he gives up and stops posting.
