I know there's nothing that can be done about it here, but the new chrome/iOS update has atrocious window placement for the link button. If you have a tablet in landscape position you can't actually see the area where you're supposed to enter text if the keyboard is up. Also, the button to lower/hide the keyboard doesn't work when the cursor is in the link field.

also a weird artifact popping up on El Capitan chrome, just to the right of the quick reply box, appears to be the little box you would normally drag for resizing the message screen you type quick replies in, only it's off to the right where ads normally are

I'm gonna do something backwards, out of necessity.

Had a computer science teacher, in the comp sci class I took, for the little uni that I did do, that used to throw a prop around and ask people the name of it. Legacy. It was always the bonus answer on the exams. I never understood what it meant at all until I started to realize the differences between, for example, microsoft and apple.

I'm still taking time to understand this. This forum is a great example. I used to think its a waste that this forum seems to have clear intent not to evolve. I used to feel that the owners/admins/mods were holding back the community and what it could be.

But now I have come to understand the benefits of evolution in regard to security, where security can describe many things.

Legacy is very beneficial because its stable, but it must necessarily evolve slow as a consequence.

So I think I understand now the proper role of technological advance in relation to legacy. Technology cannot demand that legacy changes. Technology is supposed to accept legacy, and build off of it, without changing the existing infrastructure. That is the point of it, it seems.

This allows legacy to stay relevant while also allowing the stability of the legacy systems to hold true.

I think it can be nearly said that not understanding this is THE “Great Mistake”

I still work on the book everyday and it's moving (slowly) along. I found five more chapters that I overlooked, but now I'm doing the rewrites, I'll add in some more dialogue and then I'll be getting close. (The Woodstock parts sort of became nothing more than a travelogue, so I'm taking them into another dimension, lol.)

I noticed that I repeated myself in the blog about where I was in the process, which is precisely the right state of mind for writing about the sixties. At least I have that going for me! As I get older, I'm getting closer to thinking exactly the same as I did back then.
